72 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 Theydon_Bois (372) The ’Sham, England | February 15, 2013 Visisted a number of times - largely mid 00’s prior to a curroi in N’pton.
10 or so minutes walk from the rail station in the shadows of the Shitsberg brewery.
Trad pub with a longish bar (to the right as you enter) offering a good 10 or so cask lines comprising micro’s from neighbouring counties and further afield.
Wooden floors, tables/chairs.
Pleasant and prompt service.
Well reccomended! | 90 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 ReV2 (3) Northampton, England | January 5, 2013 I nipped in for a half while waiting for "Kwick-Fit" to fit a couple of tyres (3+ hours!) Not my first time of course, it’s the place for real ale in Northampton. Many bottled Belgian beers and enough hand pumps to keep the tickers happy including Frog Island beers which are brewed just up the road. | 74 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 sic1314 (229) Leiden, Netherlands | August 30, 2012 Central but out of the way in the shadow of the Carlsberg monstrosity. More of a tickers pub than anything else, the beer range is excellent. | 82 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 16/20 imdownthepub (253) Banbury, England | January 29, 2012 Popular pub just outside of the centre, it’s only a 5 minute walk. There is a good selection of local beers, it acts as the Brewery tap for Great Oakley, it retains a good pubby atmosphere and manages to avoid the circuit pub syndrome. Lots of choice and lots going on. Saturday afternoon is a good time to visit when supporters of visiting sports teams are around, buzzing. | 86 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 18/20 bobinlondon (12) Harrow, England | July 30, 2009 I frequently drop into this pub after visiting my sister who lives locally.. In terms of cellarmanship, I would say that it can not be beaten. So many pubs with half the number of ales on offer can’t turn them over swiftly enough to guarentee quality. I never feel that I am taking a gamble when I order any pint here. This pub alone makes Northampton a worthwhile drinking destination. Unlike many ’scoopers’ pubs it’s spotlessly clean and comfortable in all respects (so WAGs are unlikely to object). | 90 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 18/20 mattn (1) Northampton, England | December 2, 2004 Consistently the best pub in the area - beers always in perfect condition - a great selection from UK micro breweries CAMRA pub winner many times - East Midlands Pub of the Year 2004 |
