Decent tap selection, large Schell’s lineup and a few others things. All tap are $2.50 during happy hour. Great roast beef sandwiches. Atmosphere of an old dive bar.

Visited here on Dec. 3, 2011. Regrettably, I didn’t eat, but I will most definitely get a roast beef next time I’m there. Decent tap lineup of 18 or so beers - on this night, there must have been about a half-dozen from Schell’s. Got to listen to Matty Beats kick it on stage. Cool spot.

This is a Minneapolis Institution. Not just for the amazing Garlic Beef Sandwich but bands like The Replacements, Soul Asylum, the Rembrandts, Husker Du, Jack knife and the Sharps played here. Old historical building, historical neighborhood. This place disproves the "Fargo" myth of Minneapolis being "dorky" and milk-toast. Bands right in your face, and a giant garlic beef sandwich. Pizza, burgers, music and of course a great bar, I hope they didn’t fix the squeaky door to the bathroom. I wouldn’t say it was seedy but it is well worn, like a great pair of tread-bare jeans. Sure go to 1st Avenue if you are in town but if you want to see what’s going on in Minneapolis do Mayslack’s for dinner and the night-time music scene.
