80 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 16/20 bytemesis (223) Sunnyvale, California | December 31, 2012 Well this is an interesting place! Pretty good bottle selection, plus a tasting bar with 12 taps. I had Abyss while I was there. Tastings weekly, and bottle sharing events as well. I may need to trek to the East Bay a little more often! | 76 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 16/20 joeneugs (89) Livermore, California | November 10, 2012 I can’t believe I’ve never been here even though it’s only about 20 minutes from my house. It looks like any other small liquor store from the outside. The selection is very good, although limited. Only about half of the store is dedicated to beer, and it’s a pretty small store to begin with. The great thing about this place is the small tasting bar in the back. It’s very nicely put together and comfortable. You feel rather separate from the rest of the place. There’s a small TV and about 8 different beers and they offer samples for a buck a piece. Nice deal, considering they had a few one offs and expensive beers when I was there. There is a good singles selection which is a big plus for me. The service was very prompt and courteous. I would stop here a lot if it was on any of my usual routes. | 78 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 16/20 fidel (74) Livermore, California | April 24, 2012 Regular looking liquor store with a very solid craft beer selection. They have a small tasting bar, where you can taste a few ounces of 6-8 different beers on tap. | 84 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 18/20 danbierman (10) California | August 23, 2011 Great store. Evan and Rael know their beer and take care of their regular customers. Selection is up and down but there has never been a time I went in there and didn’t find something worth taking home with me. Prices are good for the most part. Overall a good store, with a good beer selection, and a good staff. | 86 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 17/20 beerguy101 (75) Newark, California | June 2, 2011 Another one of those looks can be deceiving liquor stores. They get a lot of the rare and weird beers that do not seem to show up elsewhere. Another one of those places that goes out of its way to find the stuff that isn’t available elsewhere. I walked in one Saturday and the guy behind the counter said to me. "I hope you aren’t looking for what I think your for. I sold out last night!" Good selection and very reasonable prices. They DO have single which is a big plus in my book. | 80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 15/20 madvermin (3) California | January 15, 2011 Was pleasantly surprised by this establishment in quiet Fremont. From the outside looked to be your average liquor store, but once you go to the back corner of the place, the beer is all around. Plentiful selection of six-packs, dedicated singles cooler, and lots and lots of great bombers available. Their stock moves at a decent rate as well, as I have seen something new that I wanted every time I’ve gone. Staff is very enthusiastic about beer, and it shows in the beer selection vs. the other liquors there. Prices were nothing out of the ordinary. Great store in an unexpected place. | 72 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 15/20 CampesinoTino (71) Seattle, Washington | April 13, 2010 Looks like your standard generic strip mall liquor store from the outside but you’ll be pleasantly surprised to see an excellent craft beer selection inside. I came across many hard to find brews from Dogfish Head, The Bruery and Lost Abbey. You can also mix and match your own 6 pack from a pretty decent selection of singles. They also have a good selection of glassware (goblets, chalices, tumblers, etc). Definitely the best place to make a beer run in this part of Fremont. |
