A bit of a dive - rough, ready and very loud. Unless you’re more interested in watching sport than having a conversation, why bother coming here when Cole’s is literally next door? (Visited 4 November 2012).

Decent sized but the bar area gets cramped. Often too crowded and the bartenders take a while to get to you. The beer selection is better than most bars, and they do tastings and such. Parking is tough, and I’ve never tried the food. Prices aren’t bad though!

A few after dinner drinks because Blue Monk was too crazy, same with Cole’s. This place was empty by comparison, which is fine by me. Much more of a dive bar feel: pool table, loud grunge and alternative rock. Bar tender was quick despite being busy. Beer selection is obviously not as good as the other too places above, but what was on was more than sufficient. Ok place in a pinch.

Too bad on the location that Cole’s - a much better place - is right next door. Otherwise not a bad selection a bit of a dive though

A nice little waypoint in the Elmwood district of Buffalo. At first glance, it looks like a townie/college bar, but the beer they had here was VERY good, and a lot of obscure stuff for beer geeks. There is a younger vibe, although the busy bar was not incredibly crowded. I would like to have seen it on a weeknight.

The second biggest shit hole I have ever encountered next to Colter Bay Grill (also a Buffalo creation). The inside resembles a dirty cavernous lair, with wooden tables and bar stools that are so old and worn down, they look like they’re made out of cave rock from the prehistoric era. As we walked inside, the bartender gave us a raised eyebrow and grimacing stare down, as if to say, "do you really want to come in here?" The all-male clientele was equally unwelcoming, presumably because I was with my girlfriend and we were both well-dressed. Yes, they have a good lineup of craft beer taps (I noticed 20 or so micro draughts), but they also serve slop from Budweiser and Labatt, and with an atmosphere and crowd this bad, and the grisliest service you can ask for, who really cares about the selection? Overall, I would say your time and money are much better spent at Cole’s next door.

Total dive bar. Cheap prices though. Full pints and a reasonable tap list. I didn’t really want to touch anything in here but it was a good spot to grab a quick pint. It’s tough because Cole’s is right next door and is clearly the superior spot - this place is fine when it’s packed there though - as it was when I tried to go back to Cole’s in the evening.

The beer prices are really good, the place is grungy, and the food left me queasy. So in a nutshell - go check out the beer selection if you’re wandering away from next door at Cole’s! I hear the washrooms are great here too.

Not a beer bar for beer snobs but for those who just like good variety. You’ll find nothing fancy in the way of set up or decor but for the size of the building it still manages to have that old corner bar feel.
