Housed in a nice old farmhouse with good character and modern decor. Gastro pub style food, burgers and sandwiches, everything we had was tasty. Beer is okay, a couple interesting recipes, nothing off, but nothing memorable. 16 beers on tap with seltzers and cocktails also available.

This was my first visit since the large "carriage house" has opened, which totally changes the experience. The new facility is quite large, with two floors that each have their own bar and set of taps. I was there in January so outside eating was not an option, but there appear to be several locations set up for such, including a couple of ponds with fountains. It all looked beautiful at night. With that all said, there are still some problems. Evidently, they were in such a rush to get the place open for the holiday season that it is unfinished. There is a total lack of decoration and the ambiance is DULL. More importantly, no attention was given at all to sound control, and customers are surrounded by hard and flat walls, ceiling and, of course, floor. This place is LOUD. I noticed at least one employee wearing ear plugs to protect his own hearing. He indicated that they are looking into sound mitigation techniques, but talk is cheap. We’ll see what they really decide to do…and if there’s any budget left for it. The food menu is brief, but covers that basics. My wife and I each ordered a burger, which were excellent (and large as well.) There were 20 beers on tap, and we tried seven. They were OK, but nothing that I fell in love with. The amber was probably my favorite, maybe because it was out-of-style by being overly hoppy for an amber. The nut brown has a nice flavor (my wife’s favorite) but a bit on the light side for me. However, this is a review of the brewpub, not the beers, after all, so I won’t go into them all. Although you have to order your own food and drink at the bars, the food is delivered to your table. All the employees were friendly and helpful. I’d come back again for dinner and a beer, but probably not just for beer. That will happen when they do something about the acoustics, or I can sit outdoors, whichever comes first.

Visited around dinner on a Wednesday. Old house on a country road, with a large parking lot and a newer brewery attached to the back. The bar is in the house, and features 8 house beers of standard styles. The highlight of the place is the large Biergarten out back and the grounds. It was trivia night when I visited, and there was a nice happy mellow vibe. Friendly service.

70 = **½ (Locals should check it out, visitors with extended time)

I only use the total score, not the component parts.

One of the "original" Cincinnati breweries... As in, they were one of only a couple breweries that existed in town before the 2012-2013 local brewery boom. The location is on a suburban street, and looks no different than any of the other houses on the street. It’s literally a brewery built out of the back on the house. If you don’t notice the little 3 foot sign, you will drive by it at least once. The property is beautiful. "Porch-sitting" seems to be the mission statement of this brewery, and the space is perfect for it. Their tap room is small, but better now than it has ever been. The 1st floor of the house that hasn’t been turned into brewing space has been converted very effectively into seating space, it’s very cozy and comfortable. Outside the taproom door, there is now some seating built in, which is fantastic to sit out on during nice days (I’m typing this review from said seats now). All of the staff is very friendly, helpful, and hospitable. Their excellent service adds to the comfort level here. On tap are the Mt. Carmel flagships, available as tasters or flights by request, plus a couple one-offs and the occasional cask. A cozy cool place that defines "neighborhood brewery".

Nice little brewery built into an old house and extension on the eastern fringe of Cincinnati. The bar is tiny, with maybe 4 chairs. But there are a few different rooms with seating, so I eventually found one. The bartender was a little surly but all right. The year-rounds are all on tap along with a couple seasonals and specials. I think there were 8 total. Prices are fine for the area. No food, but some complimentary snack bags here and there, which was a nice touch. Cozy, cool place.

Cool taproom in an old house! Expanded to 8 taps and has occasional special beers called their snapshot series. Wonderful and knowledgable brewers making the best beers in the Cincinnati area. Great service in the tap room, too! Highly recommend a visit to this little gem.

Good spot on the east side of Cincinnati. They keep some good rotating beers on tap in the taproom, as well as some of their bottles. It’s pretty small, but the atmosphere is nice. They also do a tour on Saturdays. Definitely worth the trip.
