100 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD 10/10 VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 20/20 LoveScotchAles (3) Louisville, Kentucky | April 29, 2013 One of my locals and I’m lucky to have it. Good food, especially the pizza and calzones. Very nice selection of import and other peoples craft beers plus their own wonderfully idiosyncratic beers. Check the website for periodic special selections like high gravity or hoppy festivals. | 90 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 10/10 VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 18/20 LilBeerDoctor (208) Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania | April 18, 2013 Phenomenal brewpub. A cozy place with a bunch of wooden booths to sit in. Huge tap list, at least 10 house drafts plus 15 guest taps (mostly locals, including sun king, flat 12, three floyds, etc). The house beers are a wide mix of styles (barleywine, rye IPA, saison, kellerbier, etc) and all the ones I got to try were awesome. Very well crafted, not a bad apple in the bunch. Also their pizzas are awesome!! I got a pizza with nacho sauce, chicken, and pineapple and it was so good I had to come back for more (and more beer of course!). Stellar place, can’t wait to keep going back! | 98 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 20/20 SueEmAll (1) New Albany, Indiana | January 7, 2013 I love love love this place! It helps that it is close to home. Great beer selection and the pizza is kick ass! | 90 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 10/10 VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 19/20 jbarry1506 (1) Indiana | December 31, 2012 I love this place. The food selection is great, whether you want a sub or the best pizza in the area! The spinach kayze is a must have. As for the beer selection, between the in house taps, selection of guest taps, and the amazing selection of bottles, you can’t walk out without appreciating beer more. | 84 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 17/20 ContemplateBeer (80) Louisville, Kentucky | December 29, 2012 Roger would probably hate me using this term, but NABC is the motherhouse for all things beer in the region. In the last year, the cellar list has been pared back a bit, which seems to allow for more of the house beers (which are average to outstanding) to be featured. Still, there’s a nice, smaller bottled list (maybe about 75 or so bottles) and always something interesting on tap. This place has a nice, relaxed feel; you pretty much sit where you want to sit when you come in, and service finds you in time, which is never too long. The brewery side has more TVs and such, and more seating (I think) but I typically prefer the "public house" side. Strewn all over the walls are photos from Rogers travels and beer memorabilia as well. The food is always tasty and well priced; I especially love the calzone (pick 7 toppings for 8 bucks or something) and the beer cheese with garlic bread. The beer is fairly priced here, especially the house beers. There is also a small, but rotating, lambic list that you must request- it is worth requesting. Anyway, if you are within a state’s drive (or three) then you should make it here. It’s worth the trip. | 94 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 19/20 Travlr (999) Washington, Washington DC | November 17, 2012 OK, I could mive in here and live very hsppily. Just a sleeping bag on one of the benches or behind the bar, and I’m good. The pizza is phenomenal. The staff definitely belive in the "be kind to strangers" rule, choosing a great sampler tray, and throwing in extra samples, plus good advice on the beer, food, and other beery things in the area. Oh, and the whole afternoon, deep dish pizza and all, was ten bucks. I can’t get one beer for that in DC. | 60 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD 5/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 13/20 NeoHippie2 (33) Louisville, Kentucky | August 29, 2012 Eh, this place is ok. Selection was limited and the food selection wasn’t much better. There is a definite difference depending on what location you go to. This one was lackluster | 82 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 15/20 maverick32 (4) Virginia | August 13, 2012 Very good selection of beers both their own and others. Sort of old fashion pizza joint atmosphere. Food is good and service even better. | 92 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 queenholly (35) South Whitley, Indiana | July 9, 2012 Comfortable laid back atmosphere. The service we got was absolutely outstanding, and the pizza was very good. I tried several excellent brews. I was in town visiting family, and plan to make this a regular stop in the future. | 86 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 4/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD 10/10 VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 20/20 pitinofourpres (2) , | June 20, 2012 Love this place. Wish they would hire a few more servers and go non smoking. |
