Friendly place in the Indiana suburbs of Louisville. A bit of a trek by taxi, but worth it. The tap list was great and the pizza as well. About half their taplist was their own beers, which were average. The other half was a heavy hitter list of top 100 beers. Nothing super rare, but very well curated. Flights of their own stuff is available. Service was OK--the guy tried to convince me not to have a flight since it was more expensive. Clearly he's never heard of tickers before. I guess he was trying to help me out.

Public house was closed, pizzeria was open. The pizza smells are enticing. Seemed like a pizza crowd on a Saturday afternoon. Noisy. Hard benches. Good service and decent beer.

I'd been to New Albanian in their previous location before, but given the 99 rating on here, figured I'd try to drop by the new place. Well, a/o August 2020, amid the COVID-19 thing, they weren't letting people inside, opting only for curbside service, unlike other local brewpubs. So, I guess I'll have to try again next time ... So I did, in March 2021. Still stricken by COVID-19 restrictions, at least they were open this time. They had 9 house beers plus about 20 guest taps, including some regional offerings and imported stalwarts. We had three different beers ... two were very good, one was seriously flawed. Food was good. Service was outstanding and friendly. Would return.

Finally made it here for a post-hike lunch after years of hearing good things from co-workers heading here for work. I liked the homey, well worn feel of the place. The pizzeria side was a bit kid heavy, so we ate on the brewpub side which was more quiet on the day. The pizza alone is worth the trip. Definitely a lot of focus on the house beers, but lucked out on a few impressive guest taps. The bottle-can list seemed a little lacking, but I would have splurged on a guest bottle from Cascade if I hadn't just been there a few months earlier.

Overview: I try to have a fickle memory; I want to remember both the good and the bad; the fond and the frustrating. Such a task is made difficult when the memories are overly fond. This is my problem with re-rating NABC... you walk in, and it looks much the same as it always has: cozy pub on the right hand side, filled with many of the same pictures and familiar decor; the left hand side still the well-worn, well-loved pizzeria of by-gone days. Like any good place of a mature age, there’s a sense of reverence and permanence; there’s more of a "here" here; there are more clichés to be added, no doubt.

Service was still friendly and had situation-appropriate knowledge, though I didn’t put anyone through the ringer. Selection is maybe where things have slipped a bit... I expect to walk into NABC a find a few pleasant surprises on tap; the bottle list had diminished, even under Roger’s watch, and the emphasis is now on their house beers. You might still find the occasional guest tap of interest, but that wasn’t my experience this time around; the most pleasant being Urquell on tap for $4. While tempting, it’s not the sort of thing that will place a knowing grin across the mouths of most visitors. Community Dark tasted like Community Dark; another newer house beer did not retain my attention. Still a great place for pizza as many have attested; still well priced for food and beer; pour options of half pints and samples on pretty much everything in house.

PROS: Great place to hang out and meet friends; pizza still rocks; service is undiminished. CONS: Selection isn’t what it used to be. OVERALL: With a heavy heart, I place this outside of the must-visits in the area. Even the lineup for Gravity Head (festival of high ABV beers) was underwhelming this year. Visit for the memories and for a sociable pint/bite, but no longer as a beer destination of note. Parking on-site.

A semi-strip mall building that houses several connected rooms as well as a bar. A bunch of their own on tap (which are available in flights), as well as 10 or so guest taps (which are not available in flights). A good selection of bottles is also available.Service was friendly, but we often felt neglected. I understand the food is good. Good overall, but not quite up to what I expected.

Really can’t say this is the reason I bought a house in the area, but it definitely is a bonus that this is now my local pub. World class. Both sides have same menu and beer list. Right side of complex has larger tables if you have 6 or more in your group, left side has smaller booths and is more suitable for 1-2 people. Left side is also the way to go for growler fills. Update (May 2016): Some changes with the departure of head brewer. Bottle selection is greatly decreased now (probably due to the fact that you rarely see anyone order a bottled beer). Still keep 10-15 of their own beers on tap but not as many new beers as they used to have but the quality of their beers seems to continue. Some very nice guest taps (around 20) but half are pretty standard beers. Food quality is unchanged thankfully. Still a great place but not quite what it used to be.

High expectations on this one with a 99 rating and all. I actually parked in the lot across the street as the dedicated lot was full, but that was no issue. There are two separated places here - the Public House, which is more of a laid back bar atmosphere with comfy chairs and little rooms, and the Pizzeria, which looks more like a restaurant. Both sides have the full beer menu (although there were certainly not 35 taps, nor 220 bottles). About 8-10 New Albanian beers and another 12 or so guest taps was what I counted. Service was friendly, Pizza prices were really good, and they offered several styles of pizza, all at what I would consider great prices. The upside down pizza was certainly excellent. Flights were available - pick four or five; I actually forgot which. Was not overly excited by the beers I sampled. Nothing was terrible, but nothing really shined either. All in all an enjoyable place, not sure why it has a 99 rating though.

Plenty of dedicated parking. This rating is for thr Pizzeria. Ambiance is a older Pizza Hut style place with views of the brewing equipment. Service was quite good once I got some help. I had a 8x10 upside down pizza with pepperoni by myself, which was great, but not recommended (a lot of food). Beer prices are very good and selection of house brews and guest drafts was also good.
