2014-07-09. Convenience store with an okay selection of Scottish beers and imports. Some De Molens that caught my but they were all bottled over a a year ago. We had already stocked up on Scottish beers elsewhere so we didn’t end up buying anything here. Worth poking your head in if you are in the neighbourhood but fairly disappointing today.

Convenience store located on Lothian Road in central Edinburgh with a surprisingly large selection of bottled beers & some ciders, including lots of Scottish brewers. Well worth the visit and it’s hard not to come out with a bottle or two.

An ordinary kiosk with an unusual good range of bottled beers. Has got some similarity with the one, Kihoskh, in Copenhagen. I was especially impressed by the selection of bottles from Scottish microbreweries. All of them well arranged on the shelves and reasonably priced. Opens early (08.30) and closes late (22.00). Polite service. Connected to the nearby Brauhaus (information per 10/8), and located next to Cloisters (visited a few times during my stay in Edinburgh, early August 2013).

Ninas has recently changeed hands. It used to belong to the same guy who owns The Brauhaus round the corner and as such acted as a cooling facility for their weighty beer list. Quite surreal really to have a run-of-the-mill corner shop stocking some of the rarest and most reasonably priced beers in the city. When I went in most recently, they still appeared to have a commitment to high grade beer although perhaps they are just working their way through old stock. Time will tell...

Strange shop, big selection of imports, some US, and a lot from Belgium and De Molen. Not really a beer shop, but nice enough if you are in this area.

Decent selection of all the usual imported stuff (Mikkeller, Flying Dog, De Molen, Rogue, etc.) plus a few British beers, nothing all too spectacular. Prices are ok, with just a slight markup from the usual outrageous prices these breweries demand.

Nina’s is a random little mini-market with an impressive bottle selection given the size of the place. If someone hadn’t told you about it you when never think of stopping past. They have plenty of interesting UK, American & Scandinavian beers on offer. Plenty of stuff like Mikkeller, Kernel, Alechemy, Tempest etc. They had a couple of things not available elsewhere in Edinburgh. Worth a visit, especially considering it’s so close to Hanging Bat & Cloisters.

Visited yesterday, not that easy to find - no sign on the outside for Ninas. Just loads of yellow. 20 min walk from the city center bring a backpack to carry the beers;). Very friendly owner that was pretty proud over the selection. Bend over and look behind bottles - you might find old and odd gems - but be sure to check BB... Close to the Cloister pub 1 min away. Great sellection of Kernel and Molen beers etc. Tempest is a very nice brewery... unfortunatly found this out a couple of hours to late;)

Visited on Saturday 8th December ’12. Right between Cloisters and the Hanging Bat (2 or so minutes from either) if you want to build this into a crawl as I did. As others have touched on a dingey mini market with a pretty decent beer selection at reasonable prices. Quite a few Dutch and Belgian offerings as well as a few from the US and plenty of Scottish micro stuff. I picked up 3 winners from Tempest amongst others. Guy serving knew his stuff and had a little chat about beer as I paid. Reccomended and whilst a 10/15 walk from the centre of town, if you’re doing a pub crawl easily incorporated as touched on above.

Quite an amazing sight to walk into a convenience store and find a shelf of De Molen. Not a huge selection, but wonderfully varied. Has the same ownership as Brauhaus?
