Cool little corner brewpub. It was busy at 2:30 pm but we got a table right away. Food was good and several of the beers were very good.

A nice small brewpub south of town. A small dining area up front with a bar in the back. Service was great and bartender was happy to walk through the details of each beer. 11 beers on tap on my visit with 5 of their own beers which were available in a flight. Food was very solid and prices were not too shabby. Solid beer and very good food which means I will definitely be by again.

This place gets really packed virtually every night of the week; it is the only decent bar in this neighborhood and it was very much needed when it opened. It gets very busy, and itís probably unwise to drop in with more than four people. The beer is standard American brewpub stuff, and it is mostly fine; there are always guest taps available. The porketta sandwich is the most popular item here and it is worth the trip by itself, but as a whole I would describe the food as average.

The really favorable qualities about Northbound are the food and the beer selection. The not so favorable qualities are that the place has very limited seating and lacks ambience. Had a couple of menu items that featured their smoked meats and they were outstanding. Beer selection includes some guest beers, and I was also quite impressed with their own beer. The outdoor patio provides some much needed additional seating capacity since indoor capacity canít be much more than 50, and thereís hardly any room to stand and wait for a table or bar stool to open up. Best to call for a reservation. Great service.

Overall a pretty cool place in the Twin Cities. Quite a few of their own beers, which are solid, and a number of other Minnesota guest taps. More down to earth and less hipster than Dangerous Man. Go to both.

Decent house made beers. Service was solid. Food was good but some items lacked. Smoked fish was dry and not very smokey. Fries were awesome. Chicken sandwich was very good. The porter was the best beer by far. Nice crowd on hand.

Stopped by on a Saturday night. Neat place, right as you walk in, you can smell the smoke/bbq. I didnít try the food, but I will if I go back. The taplist included 5 of their own beers and 5-6 guest taps (the night I visited all the guest taps were of Indeed). Beer was pretty good, cool place, definitely worth checking out.

Last Minneapolis stop before leaving town after RBSG. Food was great, I had a pretty awesome burger. The beers that I tried were also very good and complimented the smokey food. I would love to go back.

Visited August 18, 2013 for brunch as the last stop of RBSG.

The food was pretty good, though I wish I had been there for dinner and not breakfast. When I looked the place up and realized that it was a BBQ restaurant I really wanted BBQ. The breakfasts all looked very good but I went with the smoked pork sandwich and so I wasnt skipping breakfast I got a side of hash browns. Way too much food.

The beers were unfortunately not as good as the food., The hefe was decent but a bit lemony and Americanized. The porter was alright and despite being called Smokehouse Porter it was only lightly smoked (thankfully). The rest I didnt care for.

They were very friendly and donated a fair amount of stuff to RBSG. Next time Iím in Minneapolis Iíll stop in for some dinner.
