94 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 10/10 VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 20/20 OlaDunk (14) , Czech Republic | April 23, 2013 Nota Bene, the ground floor restaurant, is a true gem. Great beers of 5 rotating taps from fab breweries and always Unetice. Beers in excellent condition every time I’ve visited. What makes NB even better is the fantastic kitchen. As members of The Real Meat Society, all meat comes from the kind of farms you’d be proud to own. The combo of fantastic beers and matching food is unique to Praha as far as I know. Service among the best in town and a nice atmosphere that makes me want to send x-mas presents to whoever owns this place. (212e rating d’établissement) | 84 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 10/10 VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 18/20 MartinT (521) Montreal, Quebec | March 11, 2013 Great restaurant which happens to have a very intelligent beer list. Obscure taps from high quality (but relatively unknown) Czech breweries accompany a short-but-succulent food menu. Came twice in 8 days. The Unetice 10-degree they seem to have on at all times is a masterpiece in its genre. Just like the pork belly and beef heart plates I had. | 94 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 10/10 VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 19/20 JulienHuxley (130) Trois-Rivieres, Quebec | March 10, 2013 Visited both restaurant (ground level) and beerpoint (lowerlevel). The beerpoint has a nice cellar look but is warm and cozy, we were alone when we went so it wasn’t too noisy. They have 6 beers on tap that are different from the restaurant’s so that is 12 beers total for the establishment, a strong standing in terms of selection in Czech Republic.
The restaurant has a really modern yet comfortable atmosphere, elegant. The beer guy there knows what he’s doing because the selection of 6 beers they have on tap are all in great shape and from the finest in the country. His work is equalled by the chef, who has a short menu of delicious and original recipes. We visited the restaurant twice, once for dinner and once for lunch upon our return to Prague and both visits were more than worth it. Service was excellent, prompt and professional. The menu’s aren’t in English (as they are printed daily) but the waitresses will gladly translate. Prices are typical for the Czech rep., i.e. very low. Both times were pretty busy so havign a reservation is definitely a must, especially if you are a considerable size party. A top notch establishment. | 70 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 14/20 Svesse (178) Hässelby, Sweden | February 17, 2013 (Visited July 2012) Nice restaurant and beer bar, fairly centrally located not far from Pivovarsky Dum or Kulovy Blesk. Quite modern and light interior for Prague standards. Good beer selection with 6 taps from Czech micros, probably with a good turnover. Arrived quite late, so I didn’t try the food, but it looked good. Service was friendly and efficient. Nice and friendly place, I’ll be back to give it a more thorough check. | 86 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 10/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 17/20 TheCametron (20) , Czech Republic | February 7, 2013 Definitly more of a restaurant than a beer establishment but has enough beer to make it a worthy entry. Every time I’ve been, the food has been outstanding. They’ve got cracking taps with entries from Falkon, Nomad, Kocour and Matuska. My 4 favourite Czech micros. I had Falkon Extra Stout there on Saturday. A beer I’ve yet to see anywhere else. This is a great place for beer lovers and non-beer drinkers alike. Wonderful. | 82 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 16/20 Christian (197) Odense, Denmark | December 15, 2012 Very cool, modern place with all the focus on good beer. High quality selection. The downstair bar area is hurt a bit by a quite cellary smell. The upstairs restaurant, however, is full of class. Serving excellent food, a bit healthier than usual Czech pub food, but still at reasonable prices. | 84 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 17/20 ElDesmadre (44) Mikołów, Poland | November 28, 2012 Lovely restaurant with a wood-stone deco. Classy and appealing to the eye yet not overwhelming and rather cozy. Very good goulash. Good service. And the beer choice - well, if Unetice 12 seems to be the least interesting option, now that says something, doesn’t it? Side note: haven’t visited the Beer Point downstairs. | 90 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 18/20 JanBanan (20) , | October 24, 2012 The restaurant at street level is a very good alternative for both beer and food, quite central (between Museum and IP Pavlova). Have been there several times and the choice of beers (6 on tap) has always been excellent. They seem to keep Unetice light lager as a regular and rotate the others. Very often there’s something great from Matuska and Kocour. Beers from the new (and also excellent) brewery at Brevnov is also offered frequently. The food is great. Menu changes daily depending on whatever fresh meat/fish their chef has gotten hold of. Not many pubs/restaurants in this city where you get both a good selection of beers and food at such high standards. The staff is friendly and with good english. Nice and friendly atmosphere, smoke free, clean toilets, etc. Reservation is recommended. | 86 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 Tim Webb (173) Cambridge, England | August 23, 2012 Two places under one ownership and address (but separate entrances). The pub part is a ground floor cave and a cellar bar and may justify a 70 score. The restaurant is a modern gem and a new Prague must-do, if only for the fact that the food is pretty damn’good compared to most places, so exceptional for Prague. Clever choice of beers - all good except for the passing Mongozo Coconut dribble. My bet is they will start stocking bottles soon. Nice wood-lined atmosphere, 2 mins from IP Pavlova, knowledgable servers with good English. A winner. |
