74 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 10/20 Arve_Christian (114) Oslo, Norway | April 9, 2013 Nice shop in Mathallen. Very helpfull staff. Nice selection of beers belte 4.75 abv. About 20 bottles I hadn’t seen any other place. Good english selection ,good Norwegian as well + other renowned US brands. Well with a visit | 70 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 13/20 visionthing (190) Oslo, Norway | March 18, 2013| Updated April 4, 2013 Small and nice bottle shop upstairs from the main floor in Mathallen. Decent selection of quality beer, some of them I haven’t seen in other shops in Norway. Friendly and helpful staff. Prices was fairly average, but some quite expensive - even for Norway. Well worth a visit, especially in combination with the other beer places in Mathallen. | 78 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 15/20 Beer3000 (71) Kristiansand, Norway | March 18, 2013| Updated April 4, 2013 There seems to be some confusing here if this shop is located in first or second floor. Seen from a Norwegian perspective this is in second floor, i.e. the floor above ground floor. Anyway I should not be difficult to find as long as you are aware of that this shop is located at floor above the main food hall. I could choose to review this place as any other special beer shop around the word, but it would not be fair at all. Based on the fact that any shop outside the state monopole are not allowed to sell anything alcoholic beverage above 4,7 ABV this is a special case and has to be review on those premises. So this shop actually has an outstanding selection of low alcohol beers. In addition to a fine selection from most Norwegian micros and the most common import beer find in better groceries shop there is a decent selection of other interesting beers I have never seen before in Norway. Beers from such as Jester King, Dugges, Stillwater, Jolly Pumkins etc. Prices are just like expected, quite expensive just like everywhere else in Norway. The service is superb, the friendly girl behind the counter had a lot to tell and recommend without being obtrusive. Keep up in the same track and this will be something rather unique and definitively needed in a place like this. | 74 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 Cunningham (246) Halden, Norway | March 15, 2013| Updated April 4, 2013 Small nice bottle shop in the "2 floor" with a good wiev of Mathallen.
Decent selection of beers, and the nice lady behind the desk really knew what see sold as well!
Nice. | 52 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 6/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 3/10 OVERALL 10/20 esp0r (35) , Norway | March 12, 2013| Updated April 4, 2013 A small bottle shop at the first floor at Mathallen. Quite good selection for a regular shop in Norway with the <4,7% rule in mind. Some rare american stuff, alot of nordic and some european stuff; and of course most of the norwegian micros. The problem is the windows. which let the sun reach parts of teh beer shelves. Not good in my book. The girl behind the counter provided both knowledge about the beers and good service | 94 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 19/20 Aecorn (3) , Norway | March 8, 2013| Updated April 4, 2013 What Oslo has been waiting for!
Even with Norway’s government’s strict laws around alchol sale above 4,7% This shop manages to have a very varied selection. The service is excellent. It’s a little hard to find at Mathallen, but ask anyone and they will direct you upstairs. They have brewing equipment for sale, but the focus is on norwegian microbreweries and excellent foreign beer. Thumbs up! | 76 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 14/20 gyllenbock (104) Stockholm, Sweden | February 21, 2013| Updated April 4, 2013 Visited for the first time on a Wednesday morning in February 2013. The place is located on the second floor at Mathallen, about 20 minutes walk from central Oslo. (Radisson Plaza Hotel) The young lady at the store was very friendly, they had a very nice selection of both Norwegian and foreign beer. (up tp 4,7%) I bought 4 bottles, normal Norwegian prices. |
