Unfortunately the service was so slow that i managed to get one beer in 2 hours. lots of waiting... tried to order at the bar, but i had to order from the waitress that couldnt remember anything.

Great selection of Norwegian, Danish and even a couple Swedish. They also had some great American stuff, but you didn’t come to Oslo to drink American beer did you?

On a Friday night by 430 the place was fully reserved so the only option was to stand at the bar. It’s a beautiful space, 30 foot ceiling, tall bar, lots of bottles on display that don’t match the beer book. About 8 taps, some Norwegian and Danish and Italian. A lot of options to drink.

Neat place if a little stuffy...like a giant banquet hall or something; I’m more of a spacious-but-cozy kinda guy, this was like walking into an auditorium...tons of tables but all (!!!) were reserved, so we made do at the bar. Friendly, generous bartenders and an interesting bottle list made it a worthwhile stop...they were even going to open an old bottle of something for us (free), but we persuaded them that it would be wasted on us since all three of us hate oxidized/old beers. Only about 8 or so taps. Not a must-visit but good.

Very large selection of craft beers. Service is extremely variable: From getting a friendly beer sommelier to a guy who couldn’t care less about the customer. Avoid in novemmber/december, place is packed and every table reserved for christmas parties.

What a beautiful place. In terms of décor and class Olympen competes with Stavanger’s Cardinal for the most classy place in Norway to drink an excellent selection of craftbeer. The place is huge, massive wood, red drapes, big chandeliers and everything. By ratebeer beer bar standards this place is just Wow! We went there twice and the second time we were alone in the main room and we found the place simply beautiful and classy. Tap list is limited but carefully selected with 6 interesting taps that changed between my two visits. On tap they had Haandbryggeriet, Rogue, Schouskjelleren, Flying Couch, others... They seem to be one of the rare place to have Schouskjelleren on tap other than Schouskjelleren itself of course. I drank the Schouskjelleren taps since this is probably my new favorite Norwegian brewery and I also had a disappointing bottle of Evil Twin Room Number 603. Bottle list is extensive and comes in a nice hard-cover book with pages and pages. Most of the good Norwegian micros are on the menu and many Cantillon (including Foufoune), Struise, Alvinne, Lost Abbey (about 15 different ones), Alesmith, Hopping Frog, Mikkeller, Hornbeer, more and more… Good List. The prices are not too stiff considering this is Norway and the place is very nice. A bomber of Barrel Aged Boris is $35, trust me, this isn’t bad for Norway, and local products are not much cheaper. A must-visit.

Good selection on bottled beer. Reasonably priced by norwegian standards, efficient staff and traditional food with a modern twist made by skilled chefs. Sometimes busy and a lot of restaurant customers, but often good capacity late fridays and saturdays for a relaxed setting with friends. The noise level makes it possible to lead conversations without shouting, which is i big plus in my book. Nice outside area with grill in the summer.
