70 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 15/20 fidel (74) Livermore, California | April 24, 2013 A small place with some good taps. Food in house is a plus(I did not get a chance to try). They have a back patio that would be a desired place to post up. Best place downtown for craft beer lovers. | 82 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 16/20 badhack (22) San Jose, California | March 15, 2013 Love this place. They have a huge number of taps, always stuff that is far out or uncommon in this area. They display all their beers on a huge TV with notes, serving size and price. They have a wide range of sausages and they serve delicious fries cooked in duck fat. | 92 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 bird_machine (9) San Francisco Bay Area, California | February 20, 2013| Updated February 22, 2013 Definitely a "go-to" spot for me in San Jose. The owners and workers are all extremely nice and friendly and go out of their way to help you pick a beer you will like. I’ve never run into any problems with service (both food and beer). The prices may be a little stepper than other bars in the area, but you are also paying for quality.
Overall, for how new the place is, I think it’s already a must go-to spot for any beer lover in the South Bay. It only gets better from here. The owner mentioned that he plans the expand the back patio to accommodate another bar to ease congestion inside on those crazy weekend nights.
Looking forward to their teunure in Downtown San Jose | 76 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 4/10 OVERALL 13/20 bytemesis (214) Sunnyvale, California | January 11, 2013| Updated February 22, 2013 Finally hit this place for lunch with MrHoppy. Pretty nice taplist, including many that I have not seen on tap, or for that matter heard of, before. Seemed to have a Saison focus, at least when we were there. Pretty small, which works for a 2PM lunch, but must be a mess on a Friday night. Pretty pricey as well, with 12oz pours running $7+, and 3oz tasters for $3. I never asked to see the bottle list, but with the tap prices I would be a little afraid to. Food consists of sausages, grilled cheese, and fries; decent enough for what it is. All in all a decent experience, but not one of my favorites. | 80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 16/20 callmemickey (22) Philadelphia, Pennsylvania | October 5, 2012| Updated February 22, 2013 Fairly small bar that features a nice selection of beer (leaning mostly toward west coast offerings). Service was friendly and knowledgeable, but a bit distracted and inattentive... I think this will improve as these guys work out the kinks. Food options are limited to mostly sausages and grilled cheese sandwiches. That said, they offer well over a dozen different sausage varieties and the ones I had were awesome (Hot Italian and Texas Brat). Prices were a little high for the pours, but nothing too crazy. Nice place, will be back in everytime I am out in San Jose for work. | 76 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 5/10 VALUE 4/10 OVERALL 15/20 mrhoppy (115) Santa Clara, California | September 24, 2012| Updated February 22, 2013 Awesome to have a place that serve upscale beer downtown. They have food which is a plus. prices are pretty high. $8 for a puny glass of Biere de L’Amitie from St. Feuillen / Green Flash.
It didn’t taste as good as the bottle. you can bring kids and pets. I dropped $30+ and don’t feel I got my money’s worth. $3 for my daughter’s rootbeer was just wrong. $3 for a 3oz. sample well FUCK ME! I may go back again but they will have to have some amazing beer that I can’t get in a bottle. Think about it would you rather go here or buy a few epic bottles of beer to share with your friends. Your bang for the buck is lacking a bit. | 92 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 17/20 afalls (1) San José, California | August 14, 2012| Updated February 22, 2013 Still in their "soft opening," but a very promising place! Super-friendly staff, great beer venue (with biergarten out back). With 25 beers on tap, rotating regularly, check out their web page for the latest (always up to date, they say). Added upside: excellent vegetarian sausages in addition to a great selection for carnivores. They’ll work out the pre-opening kinks and it’ll be a terrific spot. |
