Orzo Bruno serves the fine ales of the Tuscan Birrificio Artigiano of Bientina, near Pisa; the bar has a warm and lovely atmosphere and is located in the centre of town, in a street just behind Borgo Stretto. Food and beer are excellent - low priced, too - and as a brewpub might be, this is the best I can imagine: I am no more a true "beer hunter", I confess, hence this is sure my favourite pub in Italy. The guys of Orzo Bruno have built something truly special: you are given my warm recommendation.

Easily the best(only?) place to drink beer in the hideous tourist trap that is Pisa. The beers represent a range of styles (Belgian, German etc) and are all pretty tasty. The couple that run the place are very enthusiastic and welcome opnions on their beer. They are friends with the people from Hopback. The food is pretty good too.The beer is far cheaper than the crap sold in the rip-off joints near the Tower where they tend to add on huge service charges.Note the limited opening times.

Some of the best beers in Italy; I tried five and rated all of them highly. The food menu is very limited although there are free snacks on the bar which, however, disappear within an hour of opening time. A students’ pub, with all that entails but the beer makes up for the noise. It’s a pity they don’t open lunchtime or afternoons. I had travelled to Pisa fro Firenze and had to leave earlier than I would have wished to get a train back. I should have thought also that in a city well populated by tourists they would do good daytime trade. After all, when you’ve seen one leaning tower, you’ve seen them all.

Very nice pub. great service, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and great price for Italy, decent beers. The only place that serve beers from Il Birrificio Artigiano in Bientina.

Very lively place, packed every time I was there. friendly and outgoing crowd, knowledgeable bar staff, generous with samples. Definitely worth a stop.

Very nice pub in the heart of Pisa, near the Borgo Stretto: they’re the only place to serve craft beers from Il Birrificio Artigiano in Bientina (PI). The beers are in fact very good, food is delicious, especially sandwiches and piadina, but there is a big selection of various food. My favourite pub in town.

went to this place twice as it’s the only decent beer place on Ratebeer in Pisa and it was recommended by an Italian friend. It was packed on a Friday night and on a Sunday night. The beers were great and great value at only 4 Euros a half litre. Full of local Italians :-) The food looked great but I didn’t get a chance to try it :-(

Just off the main drag of Borgo Stretto in a pleasant alley. The doors open at 7pm and on a Saturday night was packed within minutes. A great mix of locals and students enjoying well crafted beers. There is six house brews from Il Birrificio Artigiano available and all solid brews. I didnt order food off the menu as they served bread and dips on entry which kept everyone happy, myself included. The beers were ridicously cheap even by Italian standards although it was happy hour as well. Unfortantely I couldnt stay long as I had to get back to Florence the same night but definitely get here if you can fit it into the schedule. Great value!

This small family operation is the taproom for the Il Birrificio Artigiano brewery and is ideally located in the center of Pisa. Everything they do here is homemade, bio, fair trade, etc. The testaroli al pesto I had was delicious (homemade pesto can’t be less than very good, imho) and the rest of menu filled with paninis and insalatas looked good. The beers I had here were all in good condition, unfiltered, unpasteurized, served at decent tasting temperatures (which is a rarity during the Italian summer) and were all tasty. None of them stood out to me as being world-class, but offering solid artisanal beers to Tuscans is already a huge step away from the ordinary. Prices for beer go up at 8:30 even though they open at 7. If you happen to be in Pisa, this is most likely your number one beer stop.
