68 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 14/20 cratez (151) Toronto, Ontario | May 2, 2013 When I visited: Late January 2013.
What I bought: Sixpoint Bengali Tiger, The Brew Kettle Old 21 Imperial IPA, Bell’s Third Coast Old Ale, Bell’s HopSlam Ale, and Sixpoint Resin.
What I liked: Grabbed some nice finds and everything was very fresh, so I was certainly happy with the quality of my purchases.
What I disliked: LOTS of empty space on the shelves, took about 15 minutes for the cashier to ask me if I needed any help, smaller selection than Weiland’s with seemingly higher prices, just okay in comparison to other U.S. craft beer stores.
Would I go back? Maybe.
Overall Rating: 68 | 82 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 17/20 michcam8 (12) Ohio | December 30, 2012 Have stopped by this place a few times. Not much as for aesthetic but for set-up, I like the way you can navigate the selections. When you walk in there are several shelves to your left. As you go down each aisle, it goes from seasonal, foreign, to domestic. Then you see the coolers (around 7) with a pretty good selection. Then you have some wine on shelves that I have not had a chance to look at. Service is solid and they usually have a dog or two greeting you as you come in and leave. | 84 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 18/20 zanaspus (4) Columbus, Ohio | October 17, 2012 Great little hole in the wall. Not a huge selection, but they make the space they have count. Well worth the trip. | 86 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 jobeman (14) , | November 26, 2011 Kind of a hole in the wall but with a pretty great selection! Greeted at the door by 2 awesome dogs! Nice touch! Picked up some Nogne O, Weyerbacher Insanity and a bottle of Speedway Stout. Guys working the counter were very informative and outgoing. Highly recommend. | 86 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 18/20 foundmd (26) Cincinnati, Ohio | October 23, 2011 Doesn’t look like much from the outside but the inside of Palmer’s contains an outstanding selection of beers. Didn’t see many singles available but I was able to pick up several beers that I haven’t seen in Cincy (i.e. Hop Stoopid, Evil Twin, Columbus IPA). Prices seemed to be on par with most places. They have a nice little selection of affordable glassware as well. The staff was friendly and seemed very knowledgable. Loved the bulldog acting like it ran the place. A must stop when in Columbus. | 64 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 13/20 DiarmaidBHK (523) Pennsylvania | October 11, 2011 It’s your basic liquor store vibe. They sell craft beer and wine with the most emphasis seemingly placed on the beer. They have a number of coolers for six packs and large number of regional and international craft beers. They don’t have any kind of make your own sixer selection which is a bit of a surprise given the care that went into selecting their beers. (Three Floyds, Alesmith, DFH, Epic etc.) The prices are pretty good. | 100 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD 10/10 VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 20/20 HopHeadRuss (1) , | October 4, 2011 Everything you could want here, tons of imports, lots of craft beers and more of the local brews than anywhere else in Columbus. Pinky and Buddy the dogs greet you at the door and the service is awesome everyone there knows a lot about the beers and will help you find anything or just chat about their new favorites.
Top notch store and the blonde guy is smokin’ hot. | 80 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 16/20 lancehenry (16) , | May 20, 2011 I had to stop in here due to all the good reviews they’ve gotten. I must say, I was quite impressed! It seems to be an older store but fairly maintained. My girlfriend loved the dogs. She’s not a beer lover so it was nice that they kept her entertained while I shopped. They have several aisles of bombers, singles, sixers etc, and them several coolers full of beer also. I walked away with some Maharaja, Duvel, Hoppin Frog Boris and a Hippie, which I can’t wait to try. All in all, a great little shop.
| 88 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 18/20 bigg08i (5) Ohio | April 27, 2011 Great selection from all over the world. Nice place to buy beer. | 76 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 16/20 theisti (352) Leawood, Kansas | April 13, 2011| Updated June 28, 2012 Visited early afternoon on a Wednesday. Stand alone cinder block building a short distance from downtown Columbus. The beer is organized by country on racks for the most part in the middle of the store. There were also some craft 6 packs in a cooler on the side. The selection was pretty good, quite a few labels you don’t normally see. Really no service to speak of, though I didn’t seek any out. Nice enough store. |
