A rather British type of bar surprisingly placed in the basement of Kamppi shopping mall. Quite spacious with plenty of seats and a window overlooking the brewery. Decent quality of their own house beers, I specially appreciated the Saision, pretty classic. Some guest beers on tap and not too bad bottle selection as well. Honest straight forward pub food in big portions. Friendly and helpful staff. Even if it’s not the best selection of beers in town it would probably be enough to keep the beer tourist occupied some hours. Quite crowdie but no problems as there is plenty of seats and effective service. I like this please I will definitively come back.
I have no idea how I got here, but here I was. Rude, rude bouncer, shorter than me and not very muscular tried to pick a fight or something. Maybe I wasn’t the most sober person in the city, but I was calm and harmless. Barman who served us beers was arrogant dick. Can’t remember much else and why should I? Friendly staff is what I appreciate and there was non in this place.
Central location and relaxed atmosphere. Didn’t see much of their own brews, but they had a fairly interesting collection of beer both on tap and bottles. This was our first stop on out trip to Helsinki and I was happy to finaly try some Finnish IPAs.
Interesting pub in the cellar of the Kamppi shopping mall. They sport a dozen beer on tap, many Finnish including their locally brewed Blue Skies IPA. Though good for a shopping centre I found the place a bit artificial and expensive; the house beer cost me 9.50 euro for half a liter! Visited on 2013-07-13
Visited end of July 2011. Nice big place, very good service. The bartender agreed to let me have all 9 current self made beers in small samplers instead of buying them as half pints. Didn’t eat here, but could go back only for the beers too, none of them bad and a few really nice ones.
Visited again late June 2012. Got 7 samples of their own beers when explaining how I wanted to try many beers, also bought their imperial stout on bottle. Ate the sausage and potatoes basket which was nice. We were a big group but got seated nicely. Good place!
Visited yet again in March 2013. Ate the bratwurst and chorizo with bacon sauerkraut, decent food. Tried one of their brand news beers, an American hopped up Weizen. Big place that gets fairly crowded. Nice service. Pretty expensive though. Got a little smokers corner near one of the entrances if that’s your thing.
Brewpub within the Kamppi shopping center, although I’m not sure how much of the stuff they serve is actually brewed there (I’m guessing not much). A darkish place with wooden interior. The service is always very friendly, and a bit silly (in a drunken good way). Prices are high, even for finnish craft-beer- standards. The beer brewed locally is usually ok, but they have a tendency to push stuff to the tap a bit young, especially with the darker ones. I wouldn’t order anything to eat there, but they do have a selection of eatables.
