Dropped in herr during a Stone Total Tap Takeover (which is always a fun time). Looks kind of strange dropped into the middle of a very residential looking area, but I kind of liked that. Sort of a multiroomed boozer with different levels of rowdiness, depending on where you are. I kind of dug the small outdoor patio with people casually chatting away. The front bar was kind of a college hangout. Although it was loud in here, I like that they don’t jack the music up so you can actually hear what people are saying to you. In back is a nice looking games room and a few other quieter rooms as well. Bar staff were friendly and efficient. It’s got a great vibe and I would love to have soent more time here.

Here for the tapping of Pliny the Younger, so my experience was obviously not standard. The ambiance is fantastic, the service is excellent and personable, the taplist is very good (tonight especially with tappings of DfH 120 Minute & Noble Rot, Elder, and Younger), and very reasonably priced. Not only that, but the bar gave away its entire keg of Younger for free! Would definitely go back next time I’m ever in Tacoma. Highly recommended.

I have been going to The Parkway for quite sometime, especially since I moved to Tacoma from Firestone country. The selection ranges from excpetional to good at times. Service is usuallyvery good, sometimes the markup on a handle is a little much. Food is usually good. Ambiance is good. My only issue is that they do not keep enough Belgians on draft and it seems to hop centric. They have fantastic brewers nights and festivals! A must stop in Tacoma and one of the best beer bars in the state.

Holy cow batman this is the place. great taps great food and awesome atmosphere. A must stop for any beer geek. They have special all the time and run great taps every day. Come down check out the firkin or the randall. They have it all. Parking can be tight.

Both a great neighbourhood place and a visiting beer-lover’s delight. The selection is invariably excellent and they rotate handles frequently to keep the beers fresh and interest high. A mix of local, regional and national craft brews keeps the regulars coming back and the visitors will see something familiar. Service is efficient when busy and very personable when a bit slower. Beer knowledge amongst the staff is very good to excellent, several of the Parkway bartenders are perennial voting favourites for the best bartenders in the region and one of them is a respected local brewer. The brewers’ nights and other special events make the Parkway a must for PNW fans. They have a Barleywine fest every spring and an IPA fest in late summer every year. Cask ale available year round and the Randall must be experienced by all hopheads! There is pool, shuffleboard and pinball in the back with plenty of seating and sports on small screens, along with free WiFi. Food portions are small by American standards, but that is a plus in my book. Food quality is about average for a bar and prices are reasonable. After dozens of visits in the past few years I claim the PW as my home away from home.

I realy like the room. Very comfortable for me. Food is decent. Beer selection very good. I had a tastebud problem while I was there...it just seemed like the beers I tried were a bit "dead". My companion didn’t have the same reaction though, but it seemed to me that maybe the lines hadn’t been cleaned in a while. I would definitely go back again.

My favorite watering hole in Tacoma. Large list of rotating taps, always keeps me coming back for something new. Knowledgable staff that knows what they are serving. Has great events they do very frequently with brewers from across the US. The food is standard pub fair, but it’s well made, and how can you go wrong for a $1 giant basket of popcorn to polish off the night. Come on by. I’ll buy you a round if I’m there.

I LOVE THE PARKWAY. This pub is only 3 blocks from my house, so it’s very convenient. But that’s not the only reason I love The Parkway. Cask ales, large rotating tap list, great ambiance and decor, friendly staff and a shuffleboard table. This place has everything a craft beer buff could want. I’ve noticed that the better beer served the fewer the amount of lame guys and gals looking to get tanked off of kitten piss, which means a more relaxed atmosphere and less BS.

The beer selection is typically very good with local micros, seasonals, and a casked ale. Periodically have brewer nights where you can sample less common brews and meet reps. Overall very friendly for the Tacoma brew scene. Food isn’t the best quality nor the worst, but it is very cheap so you get what you pay for. Ambiance is very nice usually as a neighborhood bar. Late evenings on the weekend tend to turn into a hipster crowd though. Overall I highly recommend this bar to beer lovers in Tacoma.
