80 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 17/20 kassner (63) Wexford, Pennsylvania | November 27, 2012 Finally a place in N Ky on my trips to visit reletives. Unique with party syupplies and beverages. Selection is quite good, some rarities are a mixed blessing, found bottles to 2009, but if you were looking for them it would be a good thing. Pleasant service at the desk but no help in the aisles/ | 88 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 18/20 NachlamSie (447) Tennessee | October 17, 2012 This giant liquor supermarket is a good stop for beer. There are plenty of quality things available and many of them were actually fresh. There were not an abundance of rarities on the shelves, but the extensive selection is is definitely not devoid of goodies and solid, quality brews. Prices, like most places in Kentucky, are unbeatable, especially considering the lack of sales of tax on beer. There is also a great growler station. This is very much like Party Source in Bellevue, but just slightly falls short of having that selection. | 76 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 16/20 b3shine (179) Cincinnati, Ohio | July 9, 2012 Like the Wal-Mart of party stores in NKY (and that’s not all bad). Prices are good, and they have a great growler station setup (biggest in the greater Cincinnati area). I don’t go here often (mainly because of it’s distance from me), but when i do, I generally leave happy. | 80 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 17/20 Chudwick (59) Taylor Mill, Kentucky | September 18, 2011 currently has more taps than this site would indicate: I went there on 9/17/2011 and they had at least ten taps (perhaps it was for a promotion - I don’t know). Ambiance is super-liquor store with novelty hats and raunchy birthday cards. Service is nice and I’ve never needed their help, but it is available. I like the selection, even though they only have a limited selection in the beers I like. Many bottles with which to build your 4/6 pack. Walk-in cooler and plenty of chambered brews. Place could use a little reorganization/stock check. | 84 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 17/20 AguynamedTodd (89) Illinois | September 8, 2011 Nice selection for northern KY. Relatively close to the interstate. Prices are reasonable. But I really do like the beer selection in Ohio better. | 76 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 16/20 rondphoto (31) Lakeside Park, Kentucky | December 22, 2010 Good selection of both foreign and domestic. Boasts a large selection of single bottles, both 15.9 oz and singles from six-packs. | 76 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 joryoung (2) Erlanger, Kentucky | May 18, 2010 The staff here is incredible I have not met one that isn’t knowledgeable enough to work there. Growler station is awesome, and their friday beer tastings for $2.00 you can taste 8-10 different beers and then all 14 beers on the growler line. Also sometimes owners of breweries supposedly set up there and have something really special for people if they happen to be there. | 76 AMBIANCE 1/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 16/20 phaleslu (315) Cincinnati, Ohio | March 3, 2010 Party Town is a bit of a hike for me since I’m in Cincinnati and I’ve got to go a lot farther than The Party Source to get there. However, the 14-tap growler station has made multiple trips worthwhile. The place is in a dumpy strip mall and is disorganized and not well-kept on the inside. Stray bottles make finding particular things tricky sometimes. It’s got a ton of them, though, but still not as many as Party Source. The prices are almost identical at the two stores, but on recent Bell’s six packs, Party Town has been cheaper. The real gem here is the growler station. I’m told the 14 taps came from a recent 7-tap expansion. I filled up 3 growlers of FFF Behemoth and 1 growler of Dreadnaught for recent trades. They also had regionals from Kentucky (Bourbon St. Matthews went to another trade), and stuff from Goose Island, DFH, Bell’s, Founders, Brooklyn (Manhattan Project!), and more. The prices for these ranged from surprisingly low to completely fair. For this station alone, PT is worth the trip from anywhere in the Cincinnati area. Just as an aside, the staff is helpful, and the younger guys tended to be a lot more gung-ho and friendly, and even better at filling up growlers. An older guy helped me out once and was kind of rude and didn’t even fill it to the top. | 76 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 5/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 17/20 AndyReynolds (51) Wilder, Kentucky | August 4, 2008| Updated March 13, 2010 This place is awesome! I went in expecting it to be a little less than Party Source, but this place blew me away! Their variety was not as big as Party Source, but they had more rarities and better choices on tap, including Dogfish Head’s 120 Minute IPA. Plus, the staff is a hell of a lot more friendly. | 84 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 16/20 sliffy (86) Columbus, Ohio | April 2, 2008| Updated March 13, 2010 Having been down to Party Source plenty of times, this was my first trip to this location. The selection seems pretty similar between the two, but I was there for the growler fills which didn’t disappoint. There are definitely some nice shelf aged finds to made here. Plenty of odds and ends that seem to have lingered longer than one might expect. Pretty good store overall, service was very good. |
