86 Pinocchio’s is really two entities in one. The Beer Garden is a small, narrow walk-in that houses a row of takeout beers in coolers that includes many singles of local crafts and rare brews. There is a small bar with a few stools that nestle up to the dozen or so taps that regularly include some heavy hitters from the likes of Russian River, Von Trapp and Hill Farmstead, to name a few. Some top notch locals are usually available, as well. The restaurant is considerably larger and you can get all the tap beers offered in the Beer Garden to enjoy with their tasty menu items that include lots of pizza choices, wings, sandwiches and entrees. The ambience is standard pizza shop with plenty of tables and a moderate sized bar. The staff is always friendly and attentive and fairly knowledgeable about the beers they serve. |
74 After being a little underwhelmed by Capone's, this was my next stop, as it was on the top rated place list for Pennsylvania. The beer garden is more for the restaurant part of this establishment, but you can get beer here (table service). The tiny beer shop in the back is where the action is. About 14 taps available, mostly local and regional. Tiny standing room only bar, and a handful of stools and barrels near the entrance. It doesn't take much to fill this place up. Crowds make it difficult to see the coolers, nd there's a whole wall of them. Singles available. Local crowd gets loud, all the more louder in such a tiny space. Good service though, and I was finally able to get to the coolers when a few people left. Decent pricing. |
70 Bottle shop, to go, and restaurant. Small tight parking lot right in front. I stopped by for lunch. I really enjoyed my four meat pizza. Service was good. Beer selection was good. Pricing was reasonable. |
56 Everyone is pretty helpful. The place is kinda dirty and smells. Selection is limited by the small amount of cooler space. |
82 Small, solid selction. Awesome growler selection. 7 rotating taps, plus more in back! Great pizza. |
68 Great pizza. Both parts are in bad need of a makeover. Excellent selection for the restaurant, just great for the garden. Prices are decent. |
94 This is the place to go south of Philly. A great bottle selection of what they say is a thousand and that’s what it looks like. The tap selection is top notch, about 20 with a constantly changing list. The food in the restaurant is very good. The guys in the beer garden are great, very friendly and knowledgeable. Samples are always offered. he prices are very reasonable. Not easy to get to but worth the effort. |
82 Visited for a late lunch on a Monday. This is really 3 places in one, with the restaurant space and the macro beer space up front and the craft beer “garden” around the corner. I ate lunch in the restaurant space, which is laid out Diner style with ~ 10 bar stools, and many booths and tables spread about. There were 24 or so taps, great selection of regional and national craft beers. Each beer was offered draft or via growler to go. They also sold a wide variety of empty growlers from a cheap 32 oz medicine bottle to a fancy Brauler. I had a mini pizza which was fresh and tasty, the cheese steaks also looked solid. Next to the restaurant is a small macro beer, which there is no reason to visit. You need to walk around the corner to access the “Beer Garden” which has a great selection of craft in the coolers, a small 3 or 4 seat bar, and a few well chosen taps. The place is cramped, though everyone in it was in a great mood so it was a lot of fun. Overall experience is great. 82 = ★★★½ (Solid place, near the top of the list for locals and visitors) I only use the total score, not the component parts. |
88 Awesome selection with really good service. Only gripes were no RR at the time, and one of the ’regulars’ getting a bit too friendly with my fiance. |
84 Small place and can be overcrowded. Fantastic selection. Good service in the garden (not so good in the restaurant). Food ranges from bad to amazing. A bit overpriced for most bottles, but a great go-to if you want to try something rare! |
