Stopped by for lunch and had some excellent beers on draft The pizza was also quite good. Four 4 oz flights for $12 seemed pretty reasonable and provided a way to taste a broad selection without getting snockered.

One of my favorite places to enjoy a top quality beer. The draft (14 taps) list is always varied and interesting, with local, out of state and international brews. The rotation is great and the quality is always exceptional. The staff are really friendly and enthusiastic and always keen to help and suggest. Paradiso does regular tastings and tap takeovers with meet and greet sessions to boot. The pizzas are great and there is always a special one made to be paired with a beer. Great place for beer loving parents with pizza loving kids. A beer heaven in Old Town.

Much less crowded than the DC locations at lunchtime, at least on my visit. Like the others, always an intriguing tap list and a cask selection. And like the others, maybe a bit pricey for what it is. The pizza suits me well enough. Near the waterfront, it would be easy to make an evening of dinner here then a session at Bilbo Baggins.

Good beer selection on draft and bottle, and it always seems to have a cask on tap. If you have kids get there and order before 6 and they eat free :-)

I stopped in for lunch and a beer yesterday. Located right in Old Town, Pizzeria Paradiso is an open and inviting space. The front of the restaurant has huge windows, creating a picturesque wintry scene upon which to gaze while enjoying a brew on a cold day. When I mentioned that I was thinking about a stout, the server came back in less than a few minutes with two gratis samples of stouts from the draft list, which was very thoughtful. The draft selection was decent enough. I was disappointed that their cask ale had run out. When I asked what the next cask would be, I was informed that there was no one currently working who could change the cask. I find this completely unacceptable. If you are employed as a bartender at an establishment that focuses on beer and always has a cask, you need to have the basic skills to change it out. Seriously... My pizza was mediocre at best. Some of the other selections on the menu, like the antipasto, are much better than the pizza selections. The basil on my margherita pizza was scorched, which was a bummer. The crust just was not up to par, either. The prices are OK, I suppose, though not great, but there wasn’t really anything available on draft that I could get really excited about. Regarding beer, the Old Town location is nowhere near as good as the Georgetown Pizzeria Paradiso.

Hmm it’s probably my least favorite of the three Paradisos. Georgetown location has the best bar downstairs though cramped and crowded. Ambiance is great there. Tap list is great. Dupont location bar is super cramped to the point where if you don’t have a seat, just forget about it. Bottle list at Dupont is the best of the three. The Old Town location has more space, the bar is much more relaxed, but the tap list is always the weakest of the three. All three locations’ tap lists are updated "semi-live" on their website eatyourpizza.com under the "Birre" tab. So you can see almost exactly what they will have before you go. Food menu is essentially the same as the other Paradisos: it’s hearty Mediterranean with excellent antipasti and filling courses. If you are at the bar at any of the locations, ASK FOR THE OLIVES. If you’re drinking beer, it is a must palate savior and they are FREE and delicious. Don’t forget about free olive dish. If you are attempting their Happy Hour on Tues-Wed 5-7PM where all drafts are half price, remember the Georgetown and Dupont locations will be mad packed. The Old Town location is more tolerable but at the expense of having their B-list kegs on tap.

They do get some good stuff on draft here -- was pleased to get Founders Breakfast Stout right from the keg. For a small place the bottle list is good. Old Town is great neighborhood, but it always presents challenges in terms of parking and its a bit of a hike from the metro. I haven’t tried the food, but I’m rating it based on what I’ve heard from others -- so take my opinion there with a grain of salt.

Good location in Alexandria. Interior design is on the cheesy side. Ambiance is sorely lacking, but that is why I think I like it. Sitting in the bar area, it is so easy to ignore everyone around you and just pick up loads of dank beer. The food is of high quality. They focus on using a minimum number of ingredients and choosing those of the best quality. Complimentary olives are pretty great too. The Beer. The beer is expensive on not happy hour, but is cheap during happy hour. Half price. That means I can get awesome Belgian beers on tap for 5 bucks. American beers during happy hour will be even cheaper. The tap changes enough to keep things interesting. I went twice in one month and only one beer was the same. Cask beers are pretty cool as well. The best thing about this location is that there are more happy hour days than in in the Dupont location. The people who work there are mad chill and know what a beer is.

Spotty service knocks this down a few points. Visiting during Happy Hour it took about ten or fifteen minutes to get a beer. The food looked good but it was a little expensive ($17.95 for a large gourmet - in line with most other similar places).

The selection was impressive enough for me to stick around and give it a shot. A mixture of locals from Starr Hill, Olde Richmond, and Port City were complemented by a couple of Belgians. Overall I would check this place out. The biggest problem may be parking; if you can catch the Metro to Old Town and use the trolley instead.

This is a pretty well placed restaurant located in downtown Old Town Alexandria. Parked a few blocks away, walked there. The place was packed - both the bar and the front part of the restaurant. Friends had a table so didn’t have to wait through that mess.

I’ve just been here for happy hour, so I haven’t had any of the food - I suspect it’s as good as it looks. Beer selection was very nice, though both their beer menu and their board was woefully out of date (and neither matched) when I went there on Veterans Day.
