| 66 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 13/20 j12601 (262) Poughkeepsie, New York | December 22, 2012 Came in here on a Thursday night. Decent sized crowd going on while we were here but we still grabbed a pair of seats a the bar. Two bartenders and they didn’t seem to get bitchy about whose customer was whose so they both served us. Six of their own beers on tap, a pilsener, blanche, IPA, cream ale, something dark and malty and stouty on the nitro tap, and a “scottish ale”. The beers were hit or miss with the blanche and the stout being the standouts and the rest forgettable. Service was good though, and prices were decent enough. Worth a stop if you’re nearby, but in terms of the quality of the beer, unless you’re looking to tick everything, I’m not sure I’d go much out of my way to get here. | 48 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 5/10 SELECTION 6/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 10/20 Radek Kliber (171) Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), Poland | July 24, 2012 This place gets full with youth that likes loud dance music. They don’t go for beer they serve. Staff was either slow , did not cared or even rude on one occasion (we were asked to get rid of Tim Horton’s tea we had with us). Won’t come back. | 72 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 JulienHuxley (133) Trois-Rivieres, Quebec | July 9, 2012 Very small brewpub just off St-Laurent not far from DDC. Cool ambiance, apparently often crowded at night. The beers we had were good except for the blanche. They have some special seasonals available in 750ml too. Didn’t try the food although it is apparently really good. The service was okay but a little snobby, hipster place for sure. I’d like to go back. | 70 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 15/20 lefossoyeur (12) Montreal, Quebec | March 8, 2012 Really nice trendy brewpub with a lovely terrace upstairs, if you’re lucky to get a seat there. Beer menu is scarce, and the quality of their beers vary from ok to good beers. But the food is the main attraction here. Simply no brewpubs comes to the heel of this one. Staff is a little ’’snoby’’ but service is generally prompt and good. A little expensive tough, but defenitely worth the visit for any foodies in town. | 58 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 2/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 14/20 mr23528 (10) Quebec | November 30, 2010 Mixed feeling on this place. The beer is passable, but definitely not the best in the city. Had the IPA, Cream Ale and Stout. All were okay, but not amazing. The IPA lacked bitterness, while the Cream Ale was too bitter for the style. Stout was good. Food was absolutely amazing, however it is a bit pricey. Biggest problem, though, is the service. Slow and not very helpful, the servers seemed more interested in grooming themselves in front of everyone than bothering to serve anything. Disappointing, frankly. | 72 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 16/20 bp (57) Philadelphia, Pennsylvania | November 24, 2010 I don’t think the prior ratings give this place enough credit. I almost opted to skip this place because the ratings were low but I was on my way to get some poutine at La Banquise and noticed this place would be on my way. I had an IPA and my wife had a Blanche. Both were very solid beers. There isn’t a wide selection of brews here and none of the styles were as interesting as what you’ll find at Dieu du Ciel but I don’t think any beer lover could be too disappointed with the IPA. They have an interesting menu of food but we didn’t eat here. Swing in here and then go down the street to Au Coin Duluth to pick up some bottles. | 62 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 4/10 OVERALL 13/20 PWheatley (6) , Quebec | December 16, 2009 A nice place but small. They had a nice selection of beers on tap. We had the IPA and Stout which were very nice. The food was a little pricy, but the fish and chips were good and there was plenty on the plate. My only complaint for the place was the plate itself. The F&C came on a wood plater which while nice to look at resulted in many chips and bits of fish spilling off the edges while eating. I ended up with many chips in my lap and on the table. Other than that an ok place to have a pint but would not want to be there when packed. | 62 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 13/20 TheJester (34) Peterborough, Ontario | August 22, 2009 Went during Mondial 2009. Don’t remember all that well, to be honest, and my notes are kinda sketchy. I remember that the service was sorta slow, but then it was pretty busy. Don’t remember hearing much English. Décor was pretty good; I think we sat by a big window. Beer was only okay, and there was no description to work from. Food was decent. | 64 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 12/20 JoeMcPhee (466) Toronto, ON, Ontario | July 5, 2009 Found this place by accident when we were looking for a place to grab a quick bite after walking along the street fair outside. Light airy interior with lots of chalkboards and light wooden furniture. A decent IPA and a decent stout were all I tried when I was in. The beers weren’t earth-shattering, but they were good. I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to get to this place, but I wouldn’t hesitate from stopping by if I was in the area again. |
