A great place near I.P. Pavlova. But be careful, the heavily trafficked streets in this part of town can be hazardous to cross for a slightly drunken beer geek, hurrying to the next craft beer pub. Kulovy Blesk is a nice cellar pub divided into several rooms. Great selection from Matuska, Kocour and other czech craft breweries. Excellent service. (Visited March 16th 2013)

Superb little basement restaurant that just seem to do everything very well. Friendly atmosphere, even friendlier and more accommodating waitress, superb Czech tap selection (nearly as amazing as Zly Casy’s) and food of great quality (I had a paprika-spiked tatarak). All at very reasonable prices, of course. A must visit when in Prague.

Visited on a Saturday night. Located in the basement, the place feels slightly cramped. It is made of four small rooms with tables that create a vintage feel. We were taken care of by a motherly waitress who was very caring. The selection is excellent with a good mix of microbrews representing both czech classics and the new wave of czech brewing. I had goulash which was quite good and well priced. Excellent place.

(Visited July 2012) Great little restaurant and beer bar close to tube station IP Pavlova, and quite close to Pivovarsky Dum and Nota Bene. There’s a cosy restaurant in the basement, with three or four small rooms and an interior that would rather be described as charming and rustic than modern and contemporary. Service was swift and friendly and the food was really good. On street level there’s a nice beer garden and some tables in the hallway between the street and the garden. Excellent beer selection, with 15-20 different beers from Czech micros. They have the same information system as Zly Casy. Be sure to check the beer boards both in the basement and in the beer garden, there’s not necessarily the same beers on them. Definitely a must visit.

Great place. Just round the corner from Nota Bene. The food is high quality Czech fair. The taps are great with a good Focus on Matuska and Kocour. Here was my one and only encounter with the mighty Matuska Saison. An experience I long to repeat. Good beers in the fridge as well (De Molen range). It’s well decked out with comical classic Czech film imagery. Well worth a visit.

Nice restaurant, offers good czech food. But on top of this, the have a wide selection of craft czech beers, along with several dozens of bottles from Europe and USA. The entrance can be a little dissapointing, as we got there in December and the outside terrace was closed. You have to go along a narrow corridor, and then open an opaque door and go downstairs to get there. A bit creepy, but worthy once you are there.

All this restaurant has is a really impressive selection of draught beers from Czech micros, with the complete info to each beer hanging above the tap. In all other aspects, this place sucks. Claustrophobic interior, with the worst style you could think of in a cellar (instead of bricks you have light painted walls and light wooden furnitutre, plus photos with scenes from obscure old Czech movies). The bartender made an arrogant impression, as if he only mildly tolerated our presence inside the pub. Not a nice place to stay in, so we left after one beer. A major letdown during our stay in Prague.

Cosy restaurant/pub in easy walking distance from the city centre. Actually preferred this place to Zlý Časy on my last visit. There may not be as many on offer but the choice of beers is outstanding quality-wise, with great variety. The food is also quite good and the selection not reduced to mere Czech pub grub. The English-speaking service is extremely friendly, translated the whole menu for me without batting an eye. Prices are also extremely reasonable. Highly recommended.

Great place to sample beer (I think there were 17 on tap last time I was there). All from micro breweries, good variation of styles, some famous (here in CR), some new to me. Never had any problems with the condition of the beers as some reviewers seem to have had. But, had quite bad food there a couple of times. Surprising as the place has apparently been awarded for their food within the Alliance Piv group? Anyway, beers are great, service very friendly (but not much english) and it’s of course smoke free. The place looks like a dump from the outside but is actually very nice and cozy when you get yourself indoors. OK garden for hot summer days. Easy to find, just 200 metres from IP Pavlova, or a ten minutes stroll from Vaclavske Namesti.

super place not far from the Ipák (I.P.Pavlova). Large selection of draught beer inside and in the garden, more gems in the fridge to take home. The utopenci were fantastic.
