Visited Wednesday 17th December 2014 .. If you consider that for me the soul of a beer bar is the bar area and standing there you can easily imagine I did not enjoy my visit here .. Obviously this kind of old beer dens in Czech rep are different from what we call beer bars but .. anyway the main problem ( ambience / interior apart ) here ,like in almost the top places in Prague, is or the quality of the beer it’s self from micros that I found bland , with no cues and with notes of diacetyl or some common issues with the cleaning of the taps .. I deeply disappointed from these so highly suggested regional micro breweries ..

Visited on 6th Oct 2014. Hidden behind a large doorway, you enter a courtyard with a small bar within. Downstairs in a multi-room labyrinth with another bar offering a bigger selection of taps: 12 in the yard, 15 below (I think). Food looked good, but we did not eat. Staff busy but fine, beer quality good and the choice covered more styles than the usual Czech Republic bar has to offer. Worth finding.

Really a good place to go a little outside the city centre. Good service, nice and cozy place with 5-6 rooms to sit in plus the outside garden which was great. Today they had 16-17 beers on tap, mostly Czech. Some varieties of Ales and lager of course. They also have good selection in bottles. Prices are good for both tap and bottles, example 0.3L cost from 1.3 euro to 2 euro on tap. A must to see in Prague.

Place was almost full so we had to sit right next to the entrance. Turns out there is a nice looking restaurant downstairs. Lively and noisy atmosphere. We ordered some food, which was very basic but came in huge quantities. Beer selection is great, we had quite a number of local brews. Staff was busy but quick to replace your beer. Prices were, like most Prague venues outside the tourist area, awesome to this Dutchman.

A must visit for their vast selection of Czech and some German/Belgian/American beers. Mistly Czech in tap. I visited twice on a recent visit. Once at night for a couple of beers and once for a looong beery lunch with the infamous Pivni Filosof. Food was filling and tasty. Service was very attentive. Both times I sat outside under the covered seating. Larger rooms downstairs and more taps too. Second best selection after Zly Casy, but it’s close. Loved it!

The beer garden area looked closed during my visit, so I had to sit in the restaurant downstairs. The beers on tap were interesting with quite a few craft Czech beers I hadn’t seen before though the prices were a little expensive for Prague. The beer list at the bar shows a bunch of info about each beer but unfortunately the chalkboards inside the restaurant only list the beer names, so I had to go to the bar whenever I wanted to order another beer. I ate some pork ribs which were big and tender but not that flavorful. The inside of the restaurant is very old school to put it kindly. Very old and rickety tables and chairs with the paint peeling off. Overall, a decent spot to drink some Czech craft.

This place was a great find while visiting Prague. With only one night left in town...we took the chance of getting in on a Friday evening. Although the place was booked...when they realized we only had the one chance to eat here...they accomodated us in the outside garden...of course it helped that my 85 year old mom was traveling with me...lol! But definitely kudos to the staff for accomodating us! The craft beer selection was extremely good. They only had .5l pours...but I said...what the heck...I’m on vacation...and tried maybe 6 of them (didn’t finish all of each...but still worth it to sample local Czech craft beers). Last but not least...the food here is "great" and be forewarned... large portions. Don’t miss this place when in Prague!
