Decent pub overall. Plenty of Young’s offerings on tap, plus a few other randoms. Friendly staff, fair prices. On a Saturday evening the place is quite busy. There’s nothing here to draw the hardcore beer geek, but if you’re crawling around Cambridge you might as well stop here; there could be a tick for you.

Not the very best of the pubs in the Mill Road quarter but it’s a pleasant enough place and the first you come to after leaving the railway station so worth a peek. Comfortable and laid back. Eight handpumps although it’s now a Charles Wells house so there are a few of their beers (Bombardier, Eagle etc) but a couple of guests too. Crones Cider from Norfolk is always on tap. Was actually owned by CAMRA many moons ago. Quiet on a midweek lumchtime when I visoted with Pat (oh6gdx).

The first place to visit when you’re coming from the railway station. A very frendly landlord. Wells beers on tap. I also had St Austell Proper Job 4,5% (2010,2011).

OK pub. Used to have good food, dunno if the quality’s still as good. Very much tied to wells/youngs beers, which are boring nowadays. the guest ales aren’t so novel or exciting. Catering for the average man, not the extreme RBian.

I visited here on Friday 3rd June 2011. This is another pub off of the Mill Rd and along with the Live & Let Live, Cambridge Blue and a few others this area is really the decent area to go drinking in Cambridge. Beers are from the Wells & Youngs stable but with one or two guests. A friendly place with a good selection of beers (I counted eight handpumps) and v.close to the Live & Let Live
