Finally made it to this place, and it is worth the hype that is starting to build. Its a tiny little place, but is crowded on a Saturday afternoon. They run six taps, and most everything is in such small batches that they will only do growler fills on one of them. They don’t have growlers, so bring your own. Beers are amazing, service is small town friendly, prices are cheap. No taster flights, but half pours are only 3-4$.

Finally, a new brewery worth getting excited about! Nice selection of house brews ranging from well above average to excellent in quality - all solid and well crafted. I may be a little biased in that they’re brewing a good selection of what I want to drink: Belgians, porters, sours, and an outstanding west coast IPA. Prices are quite reasonable and kind of on the low side for the quality of beer. Nice comfortable tasting room focused on relaxing with a good beer and a good music selection: Wilco, Talking Heads, &c. The service is fantastic. My sort of place.

To start off, the best beer in the Monterey Bay area by far. You need to look to the better brewers in NorCal for a real comparison. The tasting room is small but inviting, with some interesting light fixtures, a few barrels for tables and a bar with room for about six people. The staff manning the taps, very often consisting solely of Tim, the brewer, are very friendly and attentive. The regulars are also friendly and generous, on a couple of occasions having shared their own bottles they brought in with others like me who were complete strangers. There seems to usually be an IPA available for wide appeal but the other three or four choices range from saison to imperial stout to wine barrel-aged sour. Fantastic beer, good people, and a personal bonus that it’s a short walk from my house.

This is the best brewery in Santa Cruz County. Actually in my opinion it is the third best brewery in all of northern california. Awesome little place that just opened. The brewer is an awesome guy that is just a home-brewer at heart. You rarely walk in and see the same beers twice. He does mostly bretted beers ranging in all styles, a lot of farmhouse ales, barrel aged beers. And he does some awesome IPAs. My new favorite place to hang out. The guy that wrote the directions to the place is not a local so he doesn’t know the right way to get there. Going south on 1 take park avenue exit and turn right on park ave. You turn left on Park Avenue if you are on 1 North. At the stop sign you make a right on kennedy. At the second stop sign you make a right, next to the church, kennedy actually continues that way, even though straight should be kennedy it is not. Follow that road to the end and the most modern building you see in the area has the tap room. They are open Thurs.-Friday 4-8, and Sat. 12-8, and Sunday 12-6. Awesome place!!!

Nice little brewery tucked away (don’t follow the smartphone directions, take Bay Ave to Monterey Ave, left on Kennedy and to the bitter end). Small tasting room, nice selection of things on tap, cool staff, good beer. 2oz tasters, 12 oz glasses, growlers only, limited seating. Good beer.

Small little brewery tucked away in an industrial area in Capitola, The brewer, Tim and his partner Adair, open up the tasting room on the weekends only. This little place is a gem and is worth searching out if you are in the Santa Cruz area, as they make the best beer in the County. Service is great and the knowledge of what is on tap is superior to most tasting rooms. The specialty here is Belgian style and they are all very good. As of the end of July, 2012, they are now open Thursday and Friday also, 4-8pm.
