Across the street from Schluessel. Schuhmacher Alt is not as good as the Schluessel one, but I would visit this place as well. Like standing outside with the view to the Schluessel fascade.

Great traditional Dusseldorf pub. The food was wonderful. The place to get their Alt beer, and you should really try it (but selection doesn’t go beyond that). Service is typical for local German pubs. Great old world feel.

Cosy dark brown intyerior and a small outdoor serving area. The service is efficient. They normally only have their Alt and their Jung on tap and a few times a year they also have their Latzenbier. The Alt is very good, while the Jung is a little buttery, and should only be bought if you want the extra rating.

It does all get a bit samey here, doesn’t it? Not a bad Alt - does one exist a present in this area - but nothing particulary special IMHO.

The altbier here is quite different. Really dry, smell is a mix of sulfur and cereals. Not bad but surprising. Everything else is pretty similar to the other traditionnal Dusseldorf pubs, which means quite nice looking place with a service of varying levels of rudemess.

Cozy place that serves their excellent altbier. Went there in the afternoon, not very crowded then. Great food, little pricier than the other altbreweries, but good selection.

Much better than the brewery in Ooststrasse. Friendly waitors and fine food. Must go.

Second outlet for the Schumacher beers. Standard is Alt, a lighter version is called Jung. Three times a year you get Latzenbier, a stronger version, highly recommended. Prefer the Stammhaus in the Oststrasse, but this place also has its merits and is close to Schlüssel, Kürzer and Uerige.

The only thing holding this place back is you can only get Schumacher alt. So it doesn’t have "selection" but this place is awesome! Vintage "brauhaus" you get seated where there is an open chair, whether or not the table is taken. Food was awesome, had the sauerbraten, Don’t really have to ask for more beer, they just keep bringing the great alt! Ask for a glass of water and they give you beer. I’d easily go back.

Der Goldene Kessel ist das schönste Brauhaus Düsseldorfs mit Super-Ambiente und Brauhaus-untypischer Deko, die sehr edel und dennoch familiär rüberkommt. Das Essen ist auf einem Niveau mit dem absolut geilem ALT, wenn nicht das beste ALT, dass es weltweit gibt! Try to figure it out! Amazing grace!
