68 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 6/15 FOOD 4/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 15/20 adamjackson (112) Canaan, New Hampshire | February 21, 2013 Always changing taps, they’re experimenting with higher gravity beers lately. I’m one to stop in and try new things but they don’t have enough exciting beers to satisfy a beer geek. Mostly a local watering hole with decent food. | 76 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 16/20 Leighton (389) London, England | February 18, 2013 An alright spot. The place itself is nice and the location convenient. The food is good and reasonably priced. The beers are, at best, average, though on the positive side none that I’ve had have been bad. All just pretty ho hum to average. The prices are fantastic, though, so you can’t really get worked up about the beer quality. The bartender was great during my visit and let me try small samples of most of the beers for basically the price of one pint (and I think a pint runs about four bucks). They cover a good range of beer styles at this place so it’s fun to sample their creations. Since this is the only brewpub (that I know of) for miles around, it’s a must visit for any beer-lover who’s visiting the Upper Valley. | 74 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 15/20 CaribouBill (9) caribou, Maine | August 20, 2011 The beer was good, I think there were 8 on tap. The Coffee Stout was good, thin for an imperial, but tasty. The red was very drinkable. Only had wings to eat so can’t really judge the food. Service was exceptional, very fast and friendly. Even with the growler to go and 2 pints in the bar the total was 40ish, so it was a great value as well. It was VERY loud in the pub, but there was a Harley Rally in town so I guess that is ok. | 74 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 GatheringBrews (13) Derby, Vermont | October 17, 2010 Stopped here many times, as it’s a good option surrounded by chain restaurants in the shopping district. The beers don’t change much, and they’re not particularly inspiring, though they’re certainly drinkable. The food is solid enough, and the staff has always been great. | 60 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 11/20 chriso (306) London, England | July 14, 2010 Located in strip mall territory just off I-89. Had the feel of a place going downhill. Very quiet at 8.30 on a Saturday evening. Homely feel. Extremely friendly service. Mediocre beers and food. As we were staying the night in a nearby motel we had assumed we would spend most of the evening here but, in the end, we left by 10pm. The shortage of customers and atmosphere made a few bottles back at the motel a more attractive option. Don’t know whether there is still a connection with the Vermont Brewpub in Burlington but that place was infinitely more lively and inviting. OK if passing. | 54 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 6/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 11/20 Lubiere (412) Ottawa, Ontario | January 23, 2010 Run of the mill brewpub at the North entry of NH. Beers are not Greg Noonan classics as they were, rather ho-hum. Basic pub fare, friendly service. Not worth a stop unless its on your route. 5.65$ for 6 samples (got 8). | 52 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 10/20 MartinT (521) Montreal, Quebec | July 21, 2009 This run-of-the-mill brewpub was full of locals when I visited, and most of them were not drinking beer. Figures. The house selections were just a selection of colours and lacked inspiration and depth. For some reason, with the setting and country music, I felt like I was in southern US. Everyone stared at us as we walked in to the bar area?!? Anyway, the quality of the beers here were mediocre at best, so I don’t see myself coming back anytime soon. | 54 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 10/20 beerbuzzmontreal (45) Montreal, Quebec | March 9, 2009 The place looks like a family restaurant, the ambiance is ok. The service is good, but the staff doesn’t seem too knowledgable. The food was ok. The beer selection is wide, but the overall quality of the beers is average. | 66 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 11/20 6ROW (41) corpus christi, Texas | January 28, 2009 stop here on the way back from longtrail.a small place with about 15 tables and standad pub fare. I had the sampler and the staff knew sometihing about beer. | 66 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 14/20 FanwickMike (33) | September 26, 2008 beer tour 09/24/08 stopped in for dinner on our way to Windsor, VT. None of the beers stood out particularly, neither positively or negatively, although my preference was for the RIP stout. The food also was forgettable, not bad or exceptional. A benign spot on our tour. |
