The Tap has a reputation with some for being pricey, but it’s pricey for a reason. The main room is a spectacular refurbishment, and the brewery room even more so. The beer range is outstanding on cask keg and bottle. Huge world beer selection and highly regarded beers on cask and keg. Although with such a huge range it often pays to ask a few questions about the beer before buying.

Great refurbishment of a classic train station pub. Obviously very convenient in location! Inside it is actually quite large with traditional features, restored with a contemporary edge. It’s now also home to the Tapped Brew Co, which are located in the adjoining room. As with the other "Tap" outposts the beer selection is great, plenty of interesting casks, kegs and bottles from a whole variety of modern beer. Perhaps a tad expensive for the location, but not for someone used to London. The must-visit destination in Sheffield.

Lovely place next to the train station, sheffield down town. Huge selection of special beers on tap and an even more incredible selection on bottle. Friendly personnell, nice athmosphere. Worth a visit.

When walking through the door I’m met with the anticipation of a child in a sweetshop. In my opinion, outside of maybe London and Manchester, this place is second to none in the UK. A perfect blend of Keg and Cask, knowledgeable bar staff and the decor really make this place special.

Just perfect. You can not miss it. Locarion at train station. Unspoilt old waiting room. What an outstanding selection! Highly recomendable!

This place has recently added another room and is now home to its own microbrewery. The Sheffield Tap’s definitely the crown jewel of the Tap empire. The bar’s quite grand. High ceilings, lovingly restored old-school interior. The beer selection’s big, diverse. Thornbridge features quite prominently. There was a quite a bit of regional stuff on cask. Keg options showcased a good combination of approachable stuff for the casual punter plus specialty items for the true beer geek (big mofo stout on keg!). The bottle list was decent, but loads of quality craft places seem to offer exactly the same bottles these days. The house beers are solid, but very safe (bramling cross bitter, for example). The prices are high for Sheffield, closer to what I usually pay in London. Overall, this is a must-visit place for any ratebeerian heading through Sheffield.

What an amazing place! Awesome selection of hard to find ales in the old station waiting room. Always full which is no surprise and very reasonably priced too! It’s worth traveling to spend a night here... Really!

I had to stop there just for a beer. It took two hours before I kept on travelling. Thornbridge, do I have to say more (2011).

My favourite bar in Sheffield. Hard to find any faults. I visit once a week when possible and there’s also something on cask and keg that i’ve never tried before. Good range of Thornbridge on cask as well as several from breweries such as Darkstar, marble and Magic rock. Several craft keg taps, usually a Brewdog and some U.S craft. Huge bottle list inc. end of history (which you can see above the bar). Laid back atmosphere, which is suprising considering how busy the place usually is. Staff are friendly, helpfull, knowledgable and know how to pour a great pint. Only slight downside is that it can be a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. I’d recoommend this place to any visitor to Sheffield.
