Stopped in here for a last beer before heading back to Richmond yesterday. I remember liking the beer here more before we started exploring craft more. This place had the best ambiance of all the places we visited, nice and cozy and with a little character. The service was speedy and friendly and she seemed to know her stuff/love beer. Nice selection of their own brews. Good prices ($3.5 every day until 6:30pm) but I didn’t like their brew quite as well as the other places we visited. Too full to sample the menu, but what we saw going to other tables at least looked good.

Went on a Saturday night, and the place was too crowded for my tastes. Unfortunately that was the only night I could make it. Got a sample of all the brews they make, no board was offered, but the bartender was nice enough for a saturday night. My friends helped carry the 4oz taster glasses from the crowded bar to a neat little area with couches and a coffee table. All the brews I tried were pretty run of the mill, nothing too interesting or exciting. Fine, but I’d like to see a bit of creativity at brewpubs. I was very excited for this, but overall, I was underwhelmed

So, I used to frequent this place years back, and I used to like it a lot more than I do now. Not to say that it’s not good, but I feel like the brewers used to use a lot more creativity in developing their brews, and that they seem to play it safe now. The food is generally excellent, and the ambiance is great when they aren’t so busy that there is only standing room.

Great selection. The staff knows beer... commence to beer snobbery when you go.

Got there at 5 on a Thursday, was pretty dead (a few people at the bar). Got seated and treated by nice staff.

Ambiance and atmosphere is about right, very good looking inside. Along with the bar and a bunch of booths/tables, there are a few lounge areas that look like they’d be great places to lounge and chill with some friends. Small pay lot (before 6) is across the street, but also what appears to be a huge parking garage a block away.

Food was better than I expected, very tasty.

Deafeningly loud on a Friday night, which I guess you need to expect from a pretty decent brewpub.

This place was rocking on a Friday night before a home game, though we managed two seats at the bar. The interior is nicely done and seems to be a renovated old building, retaining some of its old charm. The bar service was very good and efficient. There were 7 or so house beers on, and the 3 I had were solid. I ate no food, but intend to stop in again and will try out the menu.

If I had to choose a "bar" (more on that later) in town, this is the one I would go to. It can get really crowded sometimes, but it is a huge space with plenty of room to spread out as long as your not near the bar area. It has comfy chairs in one part, and intimate, high-backed booths that are good for talking with friends. Not sure how to rate the selection, since they just serve their own brews, but they are good. I only ate there once and didn’t expect anything from their food, but it was actually really good, and I’ve been meaning to go back. I think of it as more of a "bar" than a "restaurant that serves beer" and in that case it has better food than any "bar" in town, but I suppose that is not a fair characterization. Prices are pretty reasonable, and they have a great happy hour. These are good, strong beers (for the most part), not some cheap house brew, and I think the prices are better than average in terms of the quality. Getting a beer at the bar annoys me at any place, but if you’re sitting somewhere, a server will walk by occasionally and you can order that way.

Great atmosphere. Service was friendly, yet slow. Understaffed, I think is the correct word. The beers are all original, but they could be higher quality. They served me a "cask porter" which the server did not know the name of. The food was delicious.

Beautiful bar, great proper boozer feeling to it, but there is just something that stops it being a truly great place to go for a beer - although their beer is generally good (a little too much reliance on Cascade for my tastes having said that). It is definitely a better place later on in the evening when the "family friendly" crowd have taken their screaming precious darlings home.
