Big store with quite a selection of beers. The only draw back is that you can only buy beers in six pack. But they offer beers from various South American countries. Will certainly return.

What a great store. Awesome selection of beer, wine and liquor. Cigars, gourmet food. Massive store with full shelves. Rare scotch up to $12000 per bottle.
The beer selection is a mix of domestic and imports. Unfortunately all 12 oz bottles are either 4 or 6 pack, no singles, but a good selection of 22 oz and 750 ml. Everything is well organized and easy to find.
Staff is very friendly and very visible if you need anything.

Very nice selection of beers including an entire aisle of TX beers (if thatís your thing). The big negative is that they donít do mix-and-match 6ers...

For the selection of beer and wine, this is probably THE PLACE to go. They have everything you could want.

Huge place with lots of stuff, fancy food liquor wine and a decent amount of beer. They look to have about everything they could have, and some stuff they shouldnít like 2011 Saison Brett. The debit card discount led to an extra bottle. Good organization, easy to find everything.

A large liquor store that has a good selection of beer for Texas. This store also has a large wine selection as well as a small specialty grocery area. The employees are pretty knowledge able and the prices are competitive. Very good for the area.

Giant store. Lots of beer, wine, liquor. They have fancy foods. They offer "discounts" for paying with cash. The staff is usually helpful and kind.

Massive warehouse. Huge selection of wines and liquors including a massive TX selection (good or bad). Beer selection seemed quite complete, but I have been out of the area for over a year. Plenty of shelves of TX stuff. A fully stocked deli area as well with some decent produce. Good prices. A worthy bottle stop for sure.

Specís is a chain so I am rating the chain overall. Individual stores are better or worse depending on the staff and selection.
I would not rate the Smith St. store as the highest in service since other stores have more helpful staff in the beer dept. One black mark on the Smith St. store. I was buying a whole unopened case and I was forced to open the case in order to get checked out. This caused a delay and the staff did not seem to care. Since I spend thousands of dollars a year at Specís I do feel I am entitled to some consideration. The Smith St. store sells out of the most popular ales faster so it is a matter of timing in order to obtain some of the rarer varieties. I am actually able to obtain some of the more difficult to find ales in some of the peripheral stores with a much more sympathetic and helpful staff.
I would honestly give the Smith St. store a ranking of 65 but the other stores actually bring up the rating overall.

Huzzah! Specís is selling singles! Just one endcap and nothing cold but itís mostly locals and microbrew seasonals, which is what I typically want in singles anyway. No discount for picking up 6 (or 4, which are the plain carriers they had). Still, huzzah!
