Big brewpub right in downtown SLC. Vagrants are outside panhandling, which isnít the greatest greeting upon entering this place. Sat up at the bar and took a while to get noticed and served, though staff were friendly when they finally got around to it. You can order samples of any beer for $0.50, two beers at a time per person, so it is very ticking friendly. Draught beer is of course nothing special due to the stupid 4% law; the bottles, from previous experience, are much better, especially the Outer Darkness Imperial Stout, which was available. We ate dinner here as well, since they had a couple of vegan options: the veggie burger, however, wasnít impressive (dry and flavourless); the thai green curry was quite tasty though. Portions are massive. Worth a stop when in town.

Well lit, server knew what they were talking about when it came to beer. Got a little crowded, but thatís expected. Bottles to go were pretty solid and the food was great.

ambiance: feels like an old bank building or warehouse. Slightly crowded space-wise, but overall atmosphere is fine. The bar runs almost the entire length of the restaurant, and on a Tuesday night there were a handful of open seats. service: prompt, responsive, and quick. selection: a dozen drafts (all allegedly 4% or under) and about the same in bottles. In their swag section, they also had offerings from Wasatch. food: seemed like a decent menu. I only had the soft pretzel, and it was fine--roughly equivalent to something youíd get at a mid-range movie theater. value: in town from Washington, DC, everywhere in SLC felt extremely reasonable. This place was no exception. overall: I walked here from Red Rock on my way back to the hotel. Squatters isnít trying as hard to be hip as Red Rock, but in my limited experience Red Rock had the better food and the better beer. That said, this place is definitely decent, and worth checking out.

Restaurant style location with large bar in central Salt Lake City. Service was good but very much like a chain restaurant feel. We had some appetizers and they were also good -- served really fast as well. Beer selection is ample, wtih 4% drafts and then a selection of bottles. Probably a good choice for that area, but not a destination to go out of the way for.

Walked over from Red Rock with Bonnie and Dallas. Similar story in terms of the crowd as the place was packed, but also just had a very different vibe.

We were able to snag a few seats at the bar after waiting for a few minutes and ordered some samples. The bartender serving us seemed to be some combination of disinterested and worn out because it was kind of difficult to get his attention and get a beer. Oh well...

They have a lot of beers to try here. In addition to their normal lineup, a number of seasonal releases. I thought the beer quality was kind of meh overall, but a couple decent offerings.

I didnít like this place quite as much as many of the other beer bars and brewpubs in the city. Crowded, dark, and very noisy. Just not quite my scene.

Nice brewpub that had good food and a number of local beers. Service was on par for a bigger brew pub experience. Fresh hop IPAs were very good and they had a nice bottle take out selection.

I would say of the places I went in Salt Lake this was the bottom of the list. They will let you sample everything, and the prices are good. But the wait was bad, and the food was average to below Average. Go to Red Rock. Better beer better food.

One of the only places open in downtown (I think people consider this neck of the woods downtown, anyways) Salt Lake. Seems like damn near everything but the grocery store and Squatters is closed on Sunday. How reverent of the city. Anyways, this place was fairly packed on the Sunday we went, around 11:00 a.m. We found a seat at the bar. The service was prompt, and courteous. The beer was fine. I like some of their stuff more than others. Canít say I really appreciate the 4% limit on draught beers, or whatever the law is, but they make it work within the costraints of the law. The food is decent, but not great. Overall, in comparison with other places around the country, this place is mediocre, at best. Within Salt Lake, though, this is where itís at. The service was spot on, the beer is pretty good. A must stop when in Salt Lake.
