Beautiful aged bar right on campus where you will almost never find a stereotypical college student except for gameday. For the most part, the students that frequent here are genuinely looking for good beer and not always looking to get hammered. Their prices and pours of their rare beers are generous. Their selection and rotation seems to get better every year and their food is typical bar food, but still very good. It is well priced and they have a couple takeovers each month, but do not seem to hype them up like other places do. Definitely the place for people looking for craft on campus.

Sticky-floored pub with a decent tap list. The 25ish taps featured plenty of locals, but little that regional power tickers won’t have already tried. I ended up sticking with pints of Bent Paddle Venture Pils for the duration of my visit. Food’s limited to your standard bar fare. Like the tap list, the food’s better than average, but nothing worth writing home about. There’s a game room attached to the main bar, which is sort of cool, I guess. Overall, I won’t go out of my way to visit again. However, It’s a solid option if you’re visiting the University.

This place came highly recommended, but I was unimpressed. When we arrived, the three best taps were all sold out, and the staff did not know much about what else was on tap. Service was very slow, despite it being a pretty dead evening. The food was mediocre, very average pub fare. The only high point was some great beers still on tap, and prices are pretty cheap.

Another place I wish I could make it to more. Their prices are extremely reasonable, even with the really nice kegs they get their hands on. Always nice selections and food is always good. Place gets crowded fast, I usually hang in the basement.

A large college bar with a strong selection of brews. Place has a large room with pool tables plus a large bar area that is often quite packed with college kids or folks on their way to a U of M sporting event. Service can be a bit slow but the bartenders are usually familiar with beer. A nice number of taps with the occasional rare beer coming through. Never tried the food on my visits but the prices are solid. Not too bad for a college bar.

A true college bar. But, as someone (ahem....) somewhat older, I didn’t feel at all uncomfortable. Maybe Minnesota students are nicer than those elsewehere. I dunno. Anyway, it’s got a a big square bar space in the middle. Lots of booths and hight tables. Silverware and napkins sticking out of little metal buckets on the tables. Lots of sports TVs on (well, the Vikings were playing a pre-season game) and occasionally some loud music. 32 taps, mostly Midwest and West Coast stuff. A few interesting brews on the list. 18 bottled beers. Pints for $5-6. Flights of any three 5.5oz. glasses, variable pricing. Happy hour $1 off all drinks. Burgers and sandwiches, standard pub grub. Nice place, really.

This is a college bar with cheap prices, bad but not horrible food, and friendly people. The tap list is solid and will have a few exciting choices for non-locals, albeit nothing that can’t be found elsewhere usually.

Visited November 17, 2011.

Last stop of the night. Kind of a pain to get to because of all the construction going on at the time. Despite that there are some neat buildings to see in the area. The inside of the place was very dark but busy. Bathrooms are downstairs and there is a bunch of beer related stuff on the walls in the stair case.

The beer list was alright. Actually there were some good ones on there but not what I was expecting. I did make it a point to try a Grain Belt while there. I got a kick out of the mixed drink menu since they had a drink called a Wop Bomb. The bartender had a kind of funny shirt on that said "your grandpa drank here" on the back.

I’d have to check the map to see what else is in the area but it’s probably worth a revisit.

A fun place. Was here a while back and it was too busy to sit down - this time it was empty (middle afternoon) and nice friendly service. Board games. Okay food. Fun atmosphere. Good selection on U of M campus, so younger crowd. Overall a nice place.

College bar, so prices are great. Nice selection of good beer, plus the tortilla chips, and salsa were homemade ...plus they had board games.
