78 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 15/20 jookos (57) Helsinki, Finland | May 16, 2013 Deifinitely the best place to buy beer in northern scandinavia (Denmark not included). The selection isn’t super huge, but it changes constantly. The prices are a bit high in continental standards, but low for a northern european country. Super friendly staff (if you speak swedish and/or english). Clean and tidy. I stop by once or twice a month, and there hasn’t been once that I haven’t found something good, new, to sample. | 66 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 14/20 mcberko (134) Vancouver, British Columbia | May 1, 2013 The best of the Swedish monopoly. Decent selection from all over the world with pretty reasonable prices, especially for Sweden. | 80 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 16/20 martinen (39) Malmö, Sweden | February 13, 2013 The best Systembolaget has to offer. | 80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 womencantsail (392) Garbage Grove, California | September 24, 2012 Probably the best and biggest of the monopoly stores. Huge selection of beers, wines, and liquors. As with all the locations, most of the beers are crappy lagers, but there are some good micros and imports available as well. Pricing and service are the same as the other locations. | 74 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 15/20 Benzai (82) Oirschot, Netherlands | August 23, 2012 Easy to find, good selection of quality beers, a lot of Swedish beers (though quite a lot from large macro-brewers) as well. Fair prices, friendly staff. Certainly worth a visit. | 74 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 15/20 GT2 (346) Riverslime, California | July 27, 2012 Probably best beer store in Stockholm- look for the yellow and green octagon sign. This one is on the ground floor of a mall so you have to walk inside a bit to find it. Ambiance is sterile, grocery store style. Very utilitarian. Loads and loads of German and Czech macros in cans. They have singles of a lot of weird stuff, all the Belgian trappists, Orval, BrewDog. They get limited release stuff like Great Divide Yeti and local, top rated imperial stouts. Prices are higher but very reasonable for Stockholm. I ended up buying a good deal of Mikkeller beers I’ve never seen for sale in the US. For beer tourism, it is much easier to just kill the bottle list at top rated local bars. But this was worth the stop I thought. Not out of the way or anything since it’s in the downtown business district. | 58 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 5/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 12/20 hirigalzkar (80) Stockholm, Sweden | July 1, 2012 The best systembolag in Stockholm. Big and stable, altough not always the most interesting, bottle selection. Sells all the limited released beers. | 74 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 16/20 Leighton (390) London, England | June 6, 2012 Certainly the best of the SBs I visited in central Stockholm. There is a decent selection of Swedish stuff, though nothing outrageous. Also a good range of Belgian, American and British beers. Prices are good, especially compared against the cost of beers in bars. The shop is incredibly neat. Keep in mind you need a valid form of ID at these shops (passport is preferred). | 70 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 15/20 3fourths (1083) Helsinki, Finland | May 24, 2012 Probably the best take-away bottle selection in Stockholm. All shelved warm. German, Belgian, American and various Scandinavian bottles available. Prices as expected. Street level of the shopping center. | 80 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 16/20 Alf_Bigfoot (6) Solna, Sweden | February 29, 2012 One of Systembolagets only 3 "Wine-Cellar-Shops", where the really exclusive stuff gets sold. Central location and god staff. Can be quite crowded on release-days. |
