66 A large pub-style venue with a long bar and TV screens with sport. Didn't waith to get an inside seat and there was enought roominsie and on the patio at the time of our afternoon visit. Long row of taps (about 20) pouring Vancouver and/or BC beers. Service was good and friendly but don't expect much product knowledge. Set flights (no choice) of four beers and one cider were competitively priced. Non-beer and food also available. |
16 The manager have no brain, the waiters are not helping you at all, the meal are so basics than what they ask for price is too high and after all they overcharged me 10$ for nothings |
72 A great location, much like the Coal Harbour edition. Great patio seating which looks out over the water on False Creek. You get a pretty good view of the city with downtown, TELUS Science Center, etc. all visible.
As with the other location, they have a largely BC comprised tap list. A few "exclusives", but the same ones at both locations. Flights available here as well. Friendly and prompt service. Kind of expensive if you get full pours. |
62 Not gonna lie, the patio is great. You can get city view or sparrow view. Selection is solid, but I will say that they are a little weird at times with the patio. The patio will be half empty and there will be a line outside the place. That makes no sense. And I’ve never even bothered to sit inside. |
64 Currently this and the other Tap & Barrel have the best (huge and outstanding view) patios in all of Vancouver. The service is usually very friendly, but best to come on sunny weekday afternoon; weekends there is often a long line with sometimes an hour wait and with all the other beer places in the area it’s not worth waiting for. The beer selections are good with a few special house beers. Can’t complain. |
60 Trendy, but no real substance. Tap selection in BC craft, but the mainstays. Service was decent but food was on the chain side and expensive for what it was. I would give it a miss considering what is available close by. |
56 They do have a decent selection of BC craft beers, but I’m personally not a fan of the big gulp (20 oz) approach to draft beer, and definitely not a fan of high prices. The server frowned when I asked for a smaller glass, but when I persisted, he allowed as how he could help me out with a 16 oz jar at a still high price.
Best approach and value here for those that like variety in their beer is the 3 beer paddle for 8 bucks. It’s not a paddle, actually. It’s 3 short 7 oz glasses on a sheet of paper listing the beers. Best deal in the house IMO. Minus: The glassware in this joint is ridiculous. The 20 oz is a very tall slender glass stein. The 16 oz is one of those silly mugs that looks like a canning jar with a handle. Not sure who dreamt up that bit of nonsense. Plus: The WiFi didn’t work, but staff were willing and able to reboot it for me, after which it worked just fine. The floor manager was even kind enough to drop by and ask how it was working. Thumbs up to that! |
54 Place was heaving with the after work crowd. Bar was full but managed to grab a seat to the side. Some good local BC options on tap but otherwise a lot of familiarity. Staff were running ragged. Nice views. |
54 I have to partially agree with the previous review. Food is average and overpriced. Service is friendly (maybe not late night or weekends). Nice looking location. Seems that it could get pretty douchey at certain times. All the beers on tap are BC. It's no surprise when the staff are wearing shirts stating "BC on TAP". Fairly standard selection tho. Most everything scattered places serve, but this is where you'll get it in 1 spot. Only 1-2 lines are seasonal. Beer prices are okay, when accounting for the 20oz pints, and that most spots in the city are about $0.75 less for 16oz sleeves. All in, it's an ok place, with a sexy view. Not handy for public transit options tho. |
40 Wasn’t a fan of this place. Decent taplist, pretty much offering mostly BC locals. Prices are absurd, nearly totalling $10 per pint after taxes / tip. Service was decent. Food is average at best - the salad I had was insufficient, not varied and very overpriced. Won’t be coming back here anytime soon. |
