Best beer selection in Seattle by far. Always a fresh list of rotating seasonals. Staff is helpful and friendly.

Although 160 taps a lot were commercial rubbish but that still left a good choice. However the staff although cheerful were not beer gurus and had to go to the till to find style/strength/price. A let down was not being able to get half pints or thereabouts... just whole pints or thimble tasters! So that meant I could sample less (so I did not stay as long as I planned!) The other unnecessary pain in here was lack of wi-fi - would have saved asking the staff several questions if I could have logged on to Ratebeer!! Also 2 beers I wanted had run out... Still a good place but could be so much better.

A shot walk from the Pike brewery, this was a nice little stop. Lots of choice, especially with respect to PNW stuff. The vibe is like an upscale Yardhouse I guess. Didn’t try any food. Our server was indifferent to say the least (to be honest she was a bit surly with ZERO beer knowledge), but we still had a decent time.

Right in the downtown main stores/mall area underneath the street that opens into a very large bar room. Significantly long section of 3 high taps - 160 in a long S shape. 25 seat bar with a long bar section right behind to wait along for seats to open. Then a large bar table area. Very nice range of selections of styles; goodly number of local IPAs. Monster 8 ounce samplers!

Visited while roadtripping through Oregon and Washington. Somewhat swanky place located in downtown Seattle. Reminds me a little of the Yardhouse chain. Over 150 beers on tap. Good selection of beer. Food was pretty good as well. Nice place with a good selection, but it’s not your typical "local beer bar", it reminds me more of a chain type restaurant.

Walking down the steps to this place, you would never suspect the size of it. A wall of taps, 160 strong, with many very good selections seems to go on for a mile. If you can’t find a beer you like here, switch to whiskey. The staff was friendly and seemed knowledgeable. The only down side was the prices. Typical for a downtown pub I guess but still pretty steep. Close to everything, worth a visit.

Amazing selection and a nice place to watch the game or play some pool! They had some pretty great beers from all around the world of almost any variety. There were a few "essential repeats" and I don’t think they had any sours, but that didn’t bother me much. The price was a bit high for Seattle but my main issue is the service and the beer knowledge (or lack there of) of the server which we had. First I asked what a brett beer was since they had the Lips of Faith brett beer there, and I had no idea what it was. She had no idea. So my friend asked for a recommendation of a Belgan beer, and without being able to understand exactly what the waitress said, my friend accepted. When she came with big glass of wheat beer I was horrified, and my friend had to restrain me from yelling at our stupid server.

(Visited 03/2012): Found this place quite by accident as it was advertized in our hotel magazine and in walking distance. It is located on 6th Ave.

After descending a flight of stairs, the restaurant opens up to table seating then a long, winding brushed copper bar. TVs, hanging lights and artwork adorn the space. Nice view of all the taps staggered in a couple rows the whole way behind the bar.

As for the beers, Taphouse has a whopping 160 available, with a lot of handles devoted to craft beer. On my visit this included Alaskan, Deschutes, Pike, Elysian, Georgetown, Ninkasi, Big Al, Boundary Bay and many more. Flights are also available which is helpful.

Service during my lengthy visit was friendly and knowledgeable.

Food at Taphouse is pretty good. I enjoyed my burger.

Overall the chain-y nature of this place may turn some beer aficionados off but as far as spots in Seattle to try a lot of regional beers it is well worthwhile.

Stopped here for lunch while in Seattle prior to an Alaskan cruise. Easy to get to, its just a block from the downtown monorail station. Large upscale place with 160 beers on tap. Nice make your own sampler with 4 six ounce pours for about $10. Good chance to check out the northwest beers. The food was very good. I had some sushi, which was very good and my friend had the fish and chips. The fish and chips are highly recommended. Tempura battered halibut was excellent. There is a room with several pool tables as well and many TVs to keep up on sports, etc. Nice place to visit when in Seattle
