Visited this place, somewhat by accident, later in the evening on a Monday. The parking lot outside was pretty empty at the time, so its small size really was not an issue. As Suttree noted in his review below, this place is somewhat different in how they operate. They have two sides. One called Vic’s Liquor and the other called Powel Station. Vic’s has more of a liquor store vibe to it, with a small amount of beer available, and Powel Station has more of a beer bar vibe. The Powel Station side also has a beer cooler and some shelved beer along with their taps. I was impressed with the percentage of local beers available. More than half of the selection seemed to be from Tennessee. One thing I noted, though, is that you are required to buy 4/6 packs, and the mix-pack is not an option, which is unfortunate. The tap list seemed to be pretty cool, with the majority of things there also being from Tennessee. They did have more than 4 taps on my visit, but the exact number is a bit fuzzy, so I won’t update the page. I would guess somewhere in the 10-15 range. Service was very friendly. If not for being away from most of the action of Knoxville, I would say this place is worth visiting. If you are like me, you’ll just stumble across it anyway.

Vic’s is a great beer destination in Knox-vegas and they have been working hard to pull more craft beers in. Further, there aren’t many places around K-town to pick up both regular beer and high gravity in one stop - even though you’ve got to walk around to the other side. Nice guys, very knowledgeable with a selection that varies. Great place to pick up growler refills too.

This is kinda tricky to rate. It certainly isn’t a destination beer place, nor is it really a "must see if you’re in town" kinda place, either. But if I lived in this area of Knoxville, it’d be a God send. Nice selection - pretty much everything that’s available in Ktown, craft-wise. 4 taps, nicely chosen. Service was friendly without being overbearing. Walk-in cooler, as well. Note - review is for under 6% side only, I didn’t go into the liquor side. Visited on 3/19/11.
