Quick stop enroute, after GBBF. Nice traditional decor but interesting new beers, including tasters. Lively and friendly.

This was one of the later pubs that me, Loz, Ferret & Dena visited on our crawl of Congleton, Saturday 8th December 2012. This pub was one of the busiest of the day and had the best atmosphere. As you enter from the street, to your right is a small room and the bar, to your left is a larger oblong room and ahead far right is a small snug with roaring open fire (in winter) it was fair blazing away. The beers on offer included most of the core range along with bottles to included a new? beer called something like Wojtek (probably spelt wrong) There was a nice feel about this pub and you get the impression that this is deservedly popular, it was certainly one of the best of the day. Beer quality was good but one beer that I was given a taster of was not so good though to be fair I think the Bar woman realised this and took it off soon after I tried it. There always seems to be a lot going on at this pub with sessions etc so a real lifeblood pub of the local community I shouldn’t wonder. This pub is a short walk from the town centre across a busy couple of roads.
