86 A little surprised I havent stopped in before, but C'est la Vie. This is a Belgian / European themed shop on Euclid. Metered street parking available. They have a wall of bottles and cans to the left, starting with an entire lambic section. No Cantillon, but tonnes of 3F, Tilquin and the like. Pretty impressive Euro selection overall, including some bottles I havent seen in a while, and some I have never seen. The second half trends to regionals, which was less exciting. One downside is that it was all shelved at room temp, even the IPAs. There is also a bar with about 10 beers on tap, also European heavy. No whales, but a good selection indeed. A place like this I am guessing doesnt have a ton of turnover, but its a must stop for a visiting bottle hunter. |
66 Was less impressed than I’d hoped, based on reviews. Nice spot in a quaint little neighborhood. Warm ambiance in the middle of the day, dark decor. Service was friendly, if not especially attentive. Taps looked nice, though I wasn’t imbibing. What struck me though was the fairly limited selection of bottles (felt like a lot of empty space in there). It’s possible that I caught them at a fallow juncture, or that Lexington just doesn’t have good distro, but it definitely keeps the rating down. |
82 Visited 8.5.16. They were having a guided tasting of sour beers when we arrived and because of the seating arrangement we couldn’t reach some of the shelves. Good selection, plenty of local stuff (KY/IN), sixpacks, singles and lots of import - a good place for Belgian beer fans. |
86 Big selection, and a wall of singles. A number of brews I’ve not seen anywhere else, but at a price. Most of the rare ones were out of my range. Nice place right on Euclid Ave. Friendly and attentive service, and a lot of brews. I’ll return when I have more money. |

78 Visited early in the afternoon. Street parking is available at meters. Did not look around for free parking. During my visit, we were the only folks in there. The person working asked if we would like help with anything, but I was fine just looking around myself. I found some nice belgian beers I ended up buying. Prices seemed higher than I would have expected, but that was really only on the beer I ended up buying. That could just be my expectations being off. The feel of the place is like a small European pub. Kind of dark with a small bar. 8 taps. A few tables to sit at with your beer. Lots of glassware is available here, as well. One thing that caught my eye was all the old beer signage. I really wanted to ask if they would be open to selling some of it, but never did ask. I’m sure they aren’t. Anyhow, this place is pretty cool and is a worthwhile stop. It’s a couple miles outside of downtown in a more suburban looking part of town. I would like to come back again sometime. |
80 This is a beer store with 8 taps, only one of which was local, several regional. Bottle selection is extensive, especially the Belgian stuff. Not many local beers, though - maybe there just aren’t that many to be had. Staff was friendly. |
80 Cute store on Euclid, very close to UK’s campus. Some sidewalk seating, couch and table seating inside, and a small bar. Service seemed educated, responsive, and naturally friendly. Prices are reasonable. A few taps, but several bottles and cans of a wide array of breweries and styles throughout the US and abroad. I’d love to go back and spend some more time here. |
42 With bout 8-9 bar stools 5 small tables and a couple of stuffed chairs, this is a small venue, but there’s additional seating outside and the ambiance is good. Only 8 taps, but well -chosen, and a large amount of bottle d beer, some if which is kept in coolers. Great place for a beer and some beer to go. |
86 Pretty kickass beer store. I can’t imagine it getting any better in Lex than this place. Stately English pub vibe. The left side of the store is just a row of beer, with a huge emphasis on foreign beers but a good selection of local and US stuff as well. Even some things that are kinda, you know, whale-ish. On the right side is a bar with 8 taps. Samples are available for a buck each which was pretty cool. Street parking only. Prices a bit high but not unreasonable. Pretty decent selection of glassware. The person working (not sure if the was the owner) was a little pre-occupied with a re-design project, but he was helpful and friendly. No real food but a couple of light snacks. A must stop in Lexington. |
