52 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 4/10 SELECTION 6/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 12/20 BlackHaddock (228) , England | November 23, 2012 Busy on sunny days: this riverside pub has a huge garden area that sits on the riverbank and it can be a real sun trap.
Fairly large inside too, although as you walk in you’d never know, but it does open up once you’ve sqeeezed passed the bar area.
Not the sort of place I’d have added on RB, but as it’s already here! It is on my Shrewsbury walkabout circuit during the summer months but I wouldn’t bring a real beer geeks to it unless they wanted to stretch their legs, as it is a fair walk from town and over the river by footbridge.
Salopian beers often available: Oracle on my last two visits. Beer quality has never been an issue, slow staff has been. The place can get a bit ’foodie’ at times but I’ve never eaten here. The beer selection isn’t huge, three cask and the usual suspects on-tap and one or two well known bottles. |
