Easily the best casual food on the south side. Best hamburgers in Edmonton. Concise and quality-driven selection of draught and an unusual and again quality driven bottle selection (HUB and Flying Monkey in Edmonton?!). The most consistently charming staff on Whyte Avenue and good prices make this the place to go for good food and good beer.

Only really go here for the Alley Kat Cask Night. It is generally more of an eating place than a specific drinking destination, hence I don’t go as often as I should. What they do have on tap & in bottles is a good selection, and priced very well. It can get very loud when full, and there isn’t even any music on for people to shout over!! Staff are friendly, always service with a smile. Food is good, and always filling. Check it out when you’re in Edmonton!

Good beer, good food, good service. The atmosphere is lacking though. Not a dive, not a bistro and not a pub. I happily come for the beer and food, but just don’t want to stay long or feel very comfortable.

The Next Act regularly hosts Alley Kat Cask Nights on the first Tuesday of every month. The staff are always very friendly and helpful and the events are always great. Fairly extensive bottle offering given the other options in Edmonton and big supporters of local craft brew on tap. Food is always good as well. I’d check it out!
