An interesting pub overlooking the river - you can sit on the balcony by the river, must be nice in the summer! Inside assorted furniture, beers both cask and keg available and usually good music add up to a good atmosphere. The least oldy-woldy pub in this area, though annoyingly no wifi.

Possibly the most overlooked pub on the Kelham Island circuit; it is still a nice place and well worth a visit. An open plan downstairs area but with plenty of smaller parts that help create a good atmosphere. The range of mainly local real ales is good but on my last visit consisted of only pale/hoppy beers or bitters. All were well kept, however, so the limited range of styles were still worth drinking. There’s also a good range of continental beers. Upstairs is a room that can hired out although it is a little sparse. The beer gatden overlooking the river is a highlight.
