68 Finally, I got a chance to visit this pub which was considered in the early 2000s to be one of the best beer destinations in the Nordic countries. It is located in the outskirts downtown close to the bridge and about 15 minutes walk from the train station. A quite typical British pub imitation; nicely decorated with a long bar, cask ales, and football flags from the ceiling - I was happy to see West Ham United’s team flag among them. Well, when it comes to beer this is one of the few pubs in the north with a cask marque certificate. There were 10 cask ales on gravity, four of them operating at my visit. The cask ales I had from Wild Beer and Thornbridge were in excellent condition. In addition, they had ten beers on keg and a small bottled range, nothing special but well known Belgian, Danish, Czech, German and British ones. I also spotted a very decent whisky range. Polite service. Popular with all kinds of people early on a Tuesday eve. (Visited with Frau Eva 15.08.2017). |
72 There is not a lot of space to move around due to the odd floor map. Not that atmospheric, either. Good service. Quality european selection, with great beers from Germany and Belgium. They have cask ales, but I like my beers colder and more carbonated so I did not try them. Fair prices. |
90 Preislich selbst für Dänemark echt ne hohe Latte, aber in Sachen Bierauswahl auch wirklich unschlagbar. Sehr gemütlich, sehr stilvoll und ich würde immer gut bedient und beraten. |
78 An english style pub which also is showing football on a tv screen. They have a rotartion of diffrent casks. If you like Casks a place to visit when you are in Aalborg. Friendly staff. |
64 Nice english style pub with a good range of casks. Only 4 Casks open when i was there, but the cooling rack had room for more. Very good service and knowledge about the casks that was on. A must visit place in Aalborg for every beer nerd |
94 I love the Wharf. A Cask approved pub a few yards away from the Limfjord Bridge, in one of my favorite places, Aalborg, in the best country in the World, Denmark. I go here as often as I can, often skipping going home directly to my home in Skagen when I go on vacations from Norway. This place has an AMAZING selection of British and Irish beers. I can not stress how important it is that you go here, if you’re even contemplating heading to Aalborg. I never leave disappointed. |
60 My first visit here was back in 2008. In those days The wharf impressed me, but not today. Friendly service and a information folder about their beers on tap. But, most beers are what I will call "the usual suspects", both keg, cask and in bottles. When they offer three Hancock beers on tap, this is for sure not a dedicated craft beer bar! 64 Nice little place that was surprisingly empty when I visited on a Saturday evening. Room for many cask ales, but only three of them on.Decent price level. Decent German,Irish and English keg beers on. |
60 Lots of taps - BUT the usual suspects. Hancock, Fullers, Westmalle, Lindemans, Weihenstephan. They dó serve Cask Ales but otherwise hére is nothing really. Overrated! |
72 Cozy old elglish pub type bar.
25 or more taps, including some casks.
Knowable staff, but very busy on a friday night. Beers are reasonally priced.
