50 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 5/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 4/10 OVERALL 9/20 Travlr (999) Washington, Washington DC | April 23, 2012 I assume this was entered by the owner, I didn’t enter it. The concept is reasonable, but this place just misses. The burgers are OK (I had the turkey burger, and it was small but palatable). They did have DC Brau on tap, but that’s about it - lots of macros under pseudonyms, masquerading as micros. They have 4 oz tasting sizes, with $1 off if you buy at least 3. But some stuff like Heavy Seas Plan II was $4 for a taster $9 for a full pour, pricey even for Georgetown. If they’re marketing to yuppies and (non-beer) tourists who don’t know any better, fine. But to attract a beer crowd you need a beer guy who knows what to buy. Until then, it’s not worth a stop. And, the website was out-of-date, it did have two beers that I really would want to try, but neither was available. Oh well. |
