68 Local clásico del centro de Bruselas. Buena parada. Vamos a por el siguiente. |
62 We came here on 13.11.2021. A very nice location with vaults and colorful, eccentric pictures. Seems this was another puppet theater. Around 50 beers on the menu. Outside of Belgium would be a great selection, but for this city it is only mediocre (good problem to have). |
76 A very old puppet theatre, so very nice, quit good selection of Brussels beers |
76 Like the fact that it was hidden away and we learned where it was. Decent olden days vibe, mostly same beers I saw elsewhere. We had a good time there, tried a lambic or 2. |
56 A bit difficult to find and half cool half creepy interior (okay it’s more cool than creepy, but there are a lot of puppets hanging from the seiling). Service was slightly challenged, but to be fair, there were a lot of people coming at the same time. Not too cheap, but okay. If you want the theater and tradition feeling you can have a look, otherwise you are in the brussels city center with lots of akternatives. |
68 This place has a very good atmosphere. The beer list isn’t very exceptional but you have good trappists and a nice list of geuzes. It’s a bit expensive but this is the centre of Brussels. Staff is friendly. Ok place. |

66 This is off the main crowded street area with sort of a hidden speakeasy sort of outer appearance. The space entered off the entrance reminds me of La Becasse with worn smooth creaky wood everywhere with table and chairs spaced tightly together and a large fireplace and hearth. A right turn into a bigger room where there’s a ancient looking (ok historic might be a better word) puppet theatre to the left and more tightly spaced table and chairs to the right. This then leads out into an inviting large patio space. The beer here was nothing all that intriguing or special but respectable. I didn’t get to try the food this time. |
58 We (me & Loz) visited here on Saturday 25th May 2013. I was surprised that I hadn’t been here before, it is so close to the other alleyway bars in this area of town. The beer selection was fine enough and the place clearly very interesting being also a marionette ’puppet’ theatre, historic with plenty off wood and numerous rooms both up and downstairs with puppets hanging from the ceiling. The beer was amongst the priciest we have encountered in Belgium so beware, though by Brussels touristy prices I suppose it is comparable with many others. The young woman who served us was pleasant enough but a little clueless and the barman had to come back to us to check what it was we wanted. We had Rochefort 10 and Orval. Enjoyed this place but as it is in an area with numerous other better bars I am not sure we will make that many repeat visits. |
