Solid beers. Huge, excellent smoked chicken wings. Great brisket and smoked turkey breast. Laid back, relaxing atmosphere outside. It’s like hanging out in someone’s backyard. Fast, friendly, attentive service.The indoor area is very homey as well. Lots of wood. TVs inside. Only one small TV outside at the small bar area.

Service was very friendly. Beers were good. Free parking in the garage. Will go back the next time I’m in Austin.

The original location at Barton Springs. This one is smaller than the one on Lake Travis, but still has a parking garage and plenty of seats. Also has live music several times a week. They typically have 6-8 house beers on tap with about the same amount of guest taps - typically reserved for other Austin-area breweries. I may be in the minority but I really like the food, especially the brisket reuben and the smoked chicken wings. A must stop everytime I am in Austin.

A great stop during RBWG, I went back the day after for more. I big country bar and restaurant. A big patio with an outside bar. The service, food and beer was all great.

Visited during RBWG 2012. A nice brewpub with a sort of rustic feel to it, and it is a bbq place after all.

Our waiters were prompt and friendly and the brewing staff were hilarious, cool people who gave us a really good tour of the place.

I didn’t notice the selection beyond their own beers, which was a plentiful list for a brewpub. The beers were stellar, too!

The food was pretty tasty, but I wasn’t blown away.

The beer prices are reasonable, but I thought the food was a touch pricey for what it is and what you get.

Overall, I’d call this a must-stop place. They had some of the best brewpub/brewery beers I had during all of RBWG. Tasty!

Went to the Oasis/Lake location on a Monday afternoon. The place was completely dead when I got there around 5. It did pick up a bit by the time I left but the "crowd" was mostly on the patio and not inside. Great view of the very dry/low lake. Interior is wide open woodiness with the tanks behind the bar. 6-7 beers on tap-mostly lagers and a couple of ambers/pale ales. No IPA on tap. Food (bbq brisket) was decent. Not a bad place to hit for the view on a nice afternoon-I’m sure the summer months are brutal in the afternoon on the patio.

A view than can just be descrobed as amazing that over looks Lake Travis. It is part of a larger complex that is ecclectic to say the least. Music was rock a billy and country. I had pulled pork bbq which was good but not great. I also had the 5 sampler of beers which wete pedestrian. On the wat out a sample of their House 660 was tried and it was exceptionally well hopped for a brown. Tasty and interesting. This brewbbq is recommended for the view. The beer could be more robust and the food could be better.

(Visited 08/2009): Uncle Billy’s is located on Barton Springs not too far from Zilker Park on the southwest side of Austin. Parking is kind of an adventure, as there is valet right next to the brewpub, but if you want to park your car you have to drive past the place several blocks to park in a dirt parking lot that has abandoned motor homes and whatnot. Then you wait for a van to pick you up and drive you to the brewpub. Unless it is over 100 degrees (which it probably always is) you might want to walk. The outside has a patio and stage for musical acts (again - over 100 degrees), while the inside has a smokehouse look with lots of wood and a bar near the entrance. Brewing equipment is visable from inside as well. Uncle Billy’s has 6 of their beers on tap and another 4 guest beers from the likes of Real Ale and 512. A relatively small bottle list but as with the draughts it is Texas-centric. Any of the beers are available in 4-beer samplers. Service was pretty good on a weekday dinner. Our server was pretty knowledgeable about the beer but tended to disappear for extended periods of time. The barbecue at Uncle Billy’s is good. I had a trio of sliders each with a different meat and it was all good. Overall this is a worthwhile spot to hit on a visit to Austin.

Stopped by here on the way to the Jester King Brewery with ericandersnavy. I like this place, nice atmosphere, fast service, and I like the area. The food smelled and tasted GREAT! Small selection of craft brews including the house beers. Also seen Jesse James and Kat Von D stopping by to grab something to eat, had to get my friend to stop pointing at them and leave the brew pub on our way out.
