This was one of the coolest brewery experiences I’ve ever had. You walk into a coffee shop in an industrial building, and there’s a sign pointing the elevator that says "Upright, basement". You literally walk into the brewery. There are 6 taps with amazing things to try. You hang out and drink by all the barrels. Go here!!

I had a great experience here recently. Came on a Sunday afternoon..apparently about a half hour before they opened...wondered around trying to find the place and the entrance. When I finally did...it was still an adventure to locate the tasting room in the basement. There were only 4 or 5 people and one person running the place. Naturally I tasted all the beers...loved half...liked the rest. Make sure you buy the mustard made with their beer too.

A great little tasting room in this basement brewery located in a funky turn of the 20th century office tower. Nine offerings on tap all at 1.50$ each...and these are high quality offerings! They do have some snacks to buy, but this is for beer imbibing. Barkeep/master of vinyl was friendly. Please note the odd hours, but as David said, the focus here is brewing. Still, fun time tasting beer, eating pork rinds amongst barrels!

Visited while roadtripping through Oregon and Washington. It was about 2 years ago since I visited, so things may have changed slightly. The location was difficult to find, it was located in the basement of an office building with no real signs pointing you to the entrance. When you got down there, it was really cool. Drinking beers among many barrels aging different specialty beers. Very cool. I would love to go back.

Nice friendly and beer geek focused tap room in the improbable basement of a well-located office building near Broadway Bridge. The venues are not particularly attractive, but the beers are good enough that you have a bit of the pilgrimage feel that charaterizes top spots and make you stop caring about how a place looks. Kind of how HOTD used to be before moving close to downtown. It’s not depressing, but it remains a dark basement and with more kegs than people. Still, as beer geeks flock in, a fun atmosphere may develop. you can buy Upright bottles including rarities when available - based on only Four and Seven being available when we visited, I assume that’s not very often. Prices are very reasonable. Growlers are available to go, but they don’t have any empties for sale, so you need to bring your own. Too bad, because there were a few beers there that we loved and would have liked a growler of including a sour special called Yusef Lateef and a deliciously bright and fairly hoppy Pilsner, I did not even know they made one. No food offered. Very restricetd hours, their core business not being to run a pub.

Was here during the Fantasia release. Very lucky vacation time to be here. It was quite crowded, but still loved it. As others have mentioned it was in the basement of law firm I think. Lots of tanks all around. Very small "tasting" room, but everyone was all around. Nice feel, great people, greater beer.

This place is all about the beer. Wierd commercial basement location with a small corner of beer taps. Nice selection with samplers or full pours. Very limited hours but if youre in town you should definitely hit it up and try a couple samplers of amazing beer.

One of the very best places in America’s best Beer town. Go to Upright, you won’t be disappointed.

The wholegrain mustard with the pretzels is incredible. Totally worth buying it. Yum. Oh, and the beer is good too.

A quaint little tasting room in the basement of an unsuspecting building with a lovely charm. The brewmaster pours 10 (9 Upright) beers on tap in sampler sizes, 12 oz pours or growler fills for very reasonable prices, along with offering a few bottles to go. Great little place to stop in on a warm day for some of Upright’s saison specialties.
