78 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 3/10 OVERALL 16/20 Capa (248) Manama, Bahrain | January 28, 2013 Small gastropub with a focus on whiskey and bourbon. Decent tap list and one cask offering. Extensive whiskey list. Bourbon, blended, scotch, Irish whiskey, etc. From Jack Daniels to a $70, two-ounce pour of some scotch I have since forgotten what it was called. I’d love to come back and try some of the bourbons they have. The food list is small but quality driven. I only had the duck-fat fries and they were quite nice. A little dry, IMO, and maybe a tad overrated but still quite tasty. Their burger is outstanding. Only three or four tables inside and a few more outside. about 10 seats available at the bar with room for 10 more standing along the back counter. | 80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 17/20 frylock (80) Atlanta, Georgia | March 1, 2012 Small restaurant/bar in center city. Food is high-end pub grub (burgers, duck fat fries, pickled vegetables, etc.) Beer list is small, but well thought out with one cask offering and house beer brewed by Victory. On my last visit I had a burger with truffled mushrooms and split a 750ml of Stillwater Folklore with a friend. The burger was one of the best I’ve ever had. As the name suggests there is a strong focus on whiskey here with a large selection of bourbon, rye, single malts, Irish, and blended whiskey. I’m not much of a whiskey guy, but based on the quality of the food and beer, I assume its an impressive list. This place gets crowded quick so arrive early or be prepared to wait. |
