66 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 13/20 Foffern (27) Bodø, Norway | March 4, 2013 Here is where you can get beers that aren’t at other Vinmonopols, but be quick to get new releases because the beers go out fast. Overall they have one of the best beers available on bottle in Norway. Note that the shop is well hidden inside a shopping center that is not necessarily easy to spot from the outside. Also note that the special releases that are only available here is not to find in the webshop, you will have to go there and see for your self what they might be selling. | 28 AMBIANCE 1/5 SERVICE 3/10 SELECTION 3/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 7/20 Wischylini (5) Sandvika, Norway | February 18, 2013 The store is hidden away, the employees are snooty and rude, and thought I might just have visited at a bad time, their selection of beer was pitiful. | 78 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 15/20 espenra (31) Kurland, Norway | September 8, 2012 A part of the chain of wine/booze/beer monopolies in Norway, but Vika and Vinmonopolet Valkendorfsgate in Bergen has a special status and usually has special releases that you can’t get at regular Vinmonopol shops. The people I’ve talked to who worked there really are interested in beer and knows their stuff. Plain and simple the best bottle shop in Norway (haven’t been to Bergen). | 70 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 13/20 Travlr (999) Washington, Washington DC | May 3, 2012 Just when I was dissing the monopoly, a guy at Handverkersteune told me about this place. Head and shoulders above othe Vinmonopolets that I visited, although still not comparable to average beer stores in other countries. This one did have a solid selection of Aegir, Haand, a hald dozen deMolen, a couple of sours from Mikkeller and the usual American sudpects you can find in bars. Worth a look. | 64 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 3/10 OVERALL 12/20 madmitch76 (78) , England | March 31, 2012 Yet another tricky to find joint in Oslo. This one is tucked away in the mall at the end of Ruslokkeveien. Go inside and go downstairs and through.
A decent selection of beers here - nothing like an Utobeer or anything like that but decent given that this is mainly a wine shop. A picked a few beers and a nice chap asked me if he could help and we had a brief chat. He knew what he was selling allright.
Sounding like a broken record but I don’t care - prices are very very expensive. I would say 3 to 4 times of the UK.
Still if you are in Oslo this is well worth the detour. | 74 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 14/20 Arve_Christian (114) Oslo, Norway | March 18, 2012| Updated October 9, 2012 The best selection in Oslo | 74 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 14/20 Fortytwo (11) , Norway | March 13, 2012| Updated October 9, 2012 Best bottle shop in Norway. Alot of special beers arriving almost monthly. | 72 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 15/20 tfredvik (17) Oslo, Norway | February 28, 2012| Updated October 9, 2012 Far better selection than your average vinmonopol, and the beers come and go all the time. I visited this store today, a few weeks since my last visit, and the selection was completely different (apart from the regulars from Nøgne Ø, Haandbryggeriet etc). The service is a bit variable: some are eager to help, while the guy I talked to today couldn’t care less. | 72 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 16/20 Palme (47) Bergen, Norway | January 16, 2012| Updated October 9, 2012 One of the two "special-vinmonopol" we have in this country. That meaning there often are quite a lot of interesting gems here. The prices are as good as you get in Norway (not good) but that’s just the way it is. Undoubtedly a must if you are in Oslo and interested in purchasing some bottles-to-go. | 78 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 16/20 Cunningham (247) Halden, Norway | December 28, 2011| Updated December 27, 2012 A selection of beer that should be standard at every vinmonopol.
But they have mostly som rare and expencive bottles. A place to be if you are interested in som special gems! |
