66 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 16/20 JK (206) Uptown, Minneapolis, Minnesota | January 26, 2013| Updated February 8, 2013 I understand this was an old Hamm’s-owned bar, and I noticed the inlaid image of Sascha the Hamm’s bear on the floor. I understand the bar is also original, even though the building was vacant for fifty years. Great pub menu with interesting choices. They actually cure their own corned beef and my friend’s reuben looked great. I had the Cuban sandwich which was good but left me wanting at $14, a price I did not expect as all of the other sandwiches were significantly less. Happy hour prices on beer were reasonable, and there are a few less common options. On the East side, there are few dining or craft beer options and this place is a good choice. But the food is so expensive it will keep me from returning unless I am in the area. Service was friendly but slow, though they were busy. |
