64 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 5/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 13/20 Rune (320) Tromsø, Norway | January 30, 2013 During a week in Manchester we went to four Wetherspoon’s pubs: The Manchester & County, Moon Under Water, Paramount and this one which was the best, not only because of a the range of beers but also because of its cozy feel. In contrast to many other JDWs pubs Waterhouse is divided into small rooms some of them with an open fireplace. The selection of beers are very good with 10 hand pumps displaying interesting and fast changing cask ales. We came here three times for a decent traditional English breakfast and had new beers on every occasion. Central location vis a vis the magnificent town hall (visited, 22nd, 24th and 27th January 2013). | 64 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 13/20 undercurrent25 (101) Barnton, England | December 22, 2012 Average Wetherpoons, beer choice slightly better than most wetherspoons, I found it a bit crowded, we did manage to get a good window seat which was good for people watching in the centre of Manchester | 72 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 5/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 4/10 VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 15/20 wimpyjoe (617) Manchester, England | November 10, 2012 Arguably the most pleasant of the JD Wetherspoon pubs to drink at in central Manchester. It is situated in an old building opposite the town hall and is a collection of cosy converted rooms. This place can get packed in the evenings and weekends, especially when an event is on, and has an irritatingly small serving area, half of which is not used so everyone has to huddle into a section just a few metres wide, it can therefore take a while to get served. It does however manage to pack in a choice of 7 or 8 real ales at any one time. |
