(Visited 02/2013): Yard House Houston is located in the CityCentre shopping plaza on Sam Houston Parkway. Street parking and parking garages are abundant.

The interior is laid out like other locations. Dark wood and colors with the oval-shaped bar in the middle and table and booth seating all around. There is a patio as well. TVs are positioned throughout.

Regarding the beer selection, there are over 60 draughts, segregated by style on the menu. Texas breweries such as Karbach, Real Ale, St. Arnold and Southern Star are present, as are other domestic craft brewers like New Belgium and Deschutes too. Some imports as well. Some bottles too. Yard House also does a "chalk board series" with more limited draughts and bottles, including Clown Shoes, Real Ale and Dogfish Head on my visit.

Service in the bar area on a weekday evening visit was good. The server was knowledgeable about the seasonal and TX beers and was attentive.

Food at Yard House is essentially the same across the various locations. Our appetizers were all pretty good.

All in all Yard House is what it is, you know what you are going to get for the most part, and usually that involves a decent meal and a few beers that are representative of that location. Worth checking out for that reason.

Lots of taps covering craft, macros, standard imports. Big and loud, but the food was pretty good. Overall, not a bad spot, just don’t expect it to be cheap.

Located in a very trendy area near downtown Houston, this Yard House doesn’t have quite the selection of some of it’s CA locations. The food is still great and our bartender knew a little about good beer. I had a St Bernardus ABT12 and it was amazing. I really wish they’d build one of these in Dallas as I know it would do well.

Was told they had gotten a bottle of Utopias so i e-mailed them, and they said yes, so I phoned them the next morning and confirmed that yes, they had a bottle of Utopias and were selling small samples.. so i get in the car and drive the hour to get there... do you think they had it, no .. they sold out weeks ago, what a bunch of fuckin amateurs, but the this place is for yuppies and douchebags, .. the burger was decent, but fuck this place.. they gave me some free giftcards which are getting very dusty on top of my fridge, i’m not going back to this place..

This place is kind of an upscale sports bar with a good mid-level menu. The important part is the beer. 100 taps consisting of all the top craft breweries and the large imports like Franziskaner and Stella. I tend to compare all the bars with 100+ taps to each other. So by that criteria there’s good selection here but not nearly as deep as places like Max’s Taphouse or Sunset Grill. If you’re in Houston this is a great place to go for some beers and dinner.

Newly opened but already found an audience, quite crowded with suburbans of all types, skews younger and noiser but great beer selection [!] and fine appetizers. Go for Happy Hour for the best value.
