BeerGestapo (399), Windsor, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 20, 2008 Brewed in the USA !!! Pours a med amber color with a fizzy white head. Aroma is of hops, citrus, apples, and spices. Taste of hops, fruits, and caramel. There is a mild bitter aftertaste. gsmitty80 (550), Washington DC, USA Nov 20, 2008 This was an average IPA. Good hops that didnt leave too much of a bitter aftertaste. The only thing was i felt that it was a lttle too sweet. Maybe i have wrecked my palate with all the imperial IPAs ive enjoyed recently. I dont know, but i thought it was a nice change of pace from the traditional high hop and hard finishing IPAs. unclemike (422), Ft. Riley, Kansas, USA Nov 20, 2008 Partly cloudy copper body with a long lasting white head. Intense oak, pine and orange zest aroma. Body felt tailor made for a cask conditioning, soft, viscous and oily. This oily texture holds together eathy spices and citrus fruits flavours. The malt is there to support the flavours but not add to them. The carbonation was very soft even by cask standards. As far as american IPAs are concerned this one is more refreshing than aggressive. Very good. If you drink six of them, women start to look better than they really are, that’s what I call a Hoptical Illusion.
skibumphishead (175), USA Oct 24, 2008 12oz bottle from across the street. This is a decent IPA with crisp citrus flavors. This was great with some spicy pizza on a Friday night. The Illuminati label freaks me out a little bit. BiddleBrau (160), Midland Park, New Jersey, USA Oct 23, 2008 pours lighter amber with dense white head. Nice pine, slightly citrus hop aroma. Hops bite from the very first sip, carbonation enhances the bitterness. Malt is in the background but it’s all about the hops here.. As the beer warms, there is a bit more balance. Not overly bitter. Palate is not so much as full as it is prickley.
